MANILA, Philippines—Often described as someone staunchly loyal to her loved ones, Judy Ann Santos’ protective nature surfaced anew recently when she was asked to comment about the rumor that actor Gerald Anderson is courting her friend, singer-actress Sarah Geronimo.
“Totoo ba ‘yan? Umakyat muna siya ng ligaw sa akin,” Judy Ann Santos told ABS-CBN News on Dec. 13.
Recall that in 2010, Judy Ann came to Sarah’s defense when the latter was rumored to have been a cause of delay in shooting their movie.
“Mas mukhang ako pa nga [ang cause of delay] dahil sa situation ko na ten hours lang dapat ako mag-shooting. Hindi sa lahat ng oras available ako kaya may mga pagkakataong nakaka-delay din ako. Then kailangan ko pa mag-rest for five days so malaking bagay din yun at nagkakataon lang na sumasabay lang din yung schedule ni Sarah. Dere-diretso rin naman yung trabaho nung bata kaya hindi mo rin masisisi. Mahirap lang talaga pagtagpuan ang sched namin," the young superstar was quoted to have said about her “sister” in show business.
At the Dec. 8 press conference for “My Househusband: Ikaw Na!” her 2011 MMFF movie with husband Ryan Agoncillo, he recalled the times she protected him from criticisms.
“Nu’ng nagsisimula pa lang kami, there were a lot of speculations. Siyempre, sino ba naman ako na artista na magiging syota ng young superstar na si Judy Ann?
“There were a lot of talks na, ah, ginagamit lang, 'di ba? Or lolokohin lang. Naramdaman ko that level how protective she was. That was the first thing I appreciated about my wife,” he said.
Aside from her protective nature, Ryan appreciates how Judy Ann cares for him. He revealed that the actress prepares the food he brings to work so that even when he’s caught in traffic or can’t eat in a restaurant because of his tight schedule, he has “masarap na baon” with him.
The TV host-actor also revealed that many times, Judy Ann sends extra food with him so that he can share these with his co-workers during tapings or shootings.
The public will get a glimpse of how Ryan and Judy Ann interact with each other in real life via “My Househusband: Ikaw Na!” According to director Joey Javier Reyes, their acting in the film is “realistic---may pinanghuhugutan” to the point that sometimes, the acting seemed “instinctive, intuitive.”
According to a release, "My Househusband: Ikaw Na!" is about married couple Rod (Ryan) and Mia (Judy Ann) who has non-traditional setup; that is Rod takes care of the house and the kids while Mia puts bread on the table. Along the way, situations arise that test the arrangement and their relationship.
Adding third wheel support to the tested tandem is none other than awarded actress in her own right, Eugene Domingo.
“My Househusband: Ikaw Na!” is produced by OctoArts Films and it opens in theaters nationwide on Christmas Day.
