Mr. & Mrs. Ryan Agoncillo (and Judy Ann Santos): Still on Honeymoon Mode CONVERSATIONS With Ricky Lo The Philippine Star Updated March 20, 2011 12:00 AM

Parents to two beautiful children,  Ryan and Juday reveal their plan on how to mark their second wedding anniversary on April 28. Last year, they were not able  to celebrate because Juday got  pregnant – happily so! PHOTOS by  VER PAULINO
Two years into their marriage, Mr. & Mrs. Ryan Agoncillo (and Judy Ann “Juday” Santos) are still on honeymoon mode. Watch full video

Throughout this exclusive Conversation at the ballroom of Marriott Hotel of the sprawling Resorts World last Tuesday afternoon before the presscon proper for the Samsung Air-con they are endorsing, the couple was holding hands and exchanging meaningful glances. Had we asked them to, they would have willingly kissed.
The next day, Juday showed up at 55 Events Place (on Scout Rallos, Quezon City) for the presscon of Lactum 6+ which she, as the mother of Yohan and Lucho (who turned five-months old on March 7), is also endorsing. (Note: Check out The STAR’s Entertainment Section for more about Lactum 6+ in tomorrow’s issue.)
Still battling post-natal avoirdupois, Juday is limiting herself to doing just commercials at the moment, not wanting to let work take her away from home for long periods of time.
“Home is priority,” she said. “Rye and I want to enjoy not only each other’s company but that of the kids.”
Unable to celebrate their first wedding anniversary last year (April 28) because she got pregnant (“My doctor advised me to avoid stress especially during the first trimester”), Juday and Ryan are making up by celebrating the second with their respective families. They could go abroad but then the family has become suddenly big (“Malaking production number na,” as Juday put it) so they deem it wiser to celebrate at home.

How’s life so far as Mr. and Mrs. Ryan Agoncillo?

Juday: Good!
Ryan: So far.
You’re celebrating your second wedding anniversary on April 28. Happy anniversary!
Juday: Oh, you’re the first to greet us. Thank you!
How did you celebrate your first wedding anniversary last year?
Juday: Just at home. I was pregnant na so I needed bed rest. We invited two chefs. There was one dinner for the family and another dinner for our close friends.
This time, how do you plan to celebrate?
Juday: Since Lucho is here na, we cannot really make a definite plan. Big production number na when we leave home — Rye and I, Lucho and Yohan, the yaya, the nurse and others. Maybe we’ll just plan something for Yohan because she’s getting bored now that she’s on vacation.
How’s Ryan as a husband?

Do they practise family planning or any birth control? Says Ryan, ‘Control? No. Not even self-control! Hehehehe!’
Juday: Honestly, I feel so blessed that I found a partner who gives me freedom to choose — whether to stay home or go back to work and be a mom at the same time. Basta, marami akong choices and Rye is just there, supportive. The other night, I told him, “Rye, kelangan ko nang mag-diet. Samahan mo ako?’ Oo lang siya! Very supportive. “Rye, may gagawin ako. Okey lang sa’yo?” Oo lang siya, ganoon lang siya.
Do you mean that Ryan is a yes-man?
Juday: No naman. Supportive lang talaga siya. Okey lang nang okey. He’s honest naman. When he feels na may palya ako sa desisyon ko, he tells me. Technically, tatlo kaming anak niya — me, Yohan and Lucho…in the same way that I have also three children — Rye, Yohan and Lucho.
Ryan, how would you rate naman Juday as a wife and as a mother?
Ryan: Excellent! Suwerte! I remember one time, I was emceeing an event for one of MVP’s companies. Juday was then heavy with Lucho. I called MVP onstage to give a speech. As he walked to the podium, he shook my hand because he had just heard that Juday was pregnant. He told me, “Iho, you chose well!” That stuck in my head. Everytime I realize how lucky I am, I remember that MVP said that I chose well.
Juday, didn’t you go through a post-partum period?
Juday: I guess I did pero hindi lang matindi kaya hindi ko naramdaman. Maybe I went through just a mild depression especially when I was alone at home and I was tired, pero hindi ‘yung halos mamatay-matay ako sa kaiiyak. I guess it was about my weight. I think that maybe women suffer from post-partum syndrome dahil sa excess weight nila. I would tell myself, “Eh, ano kung tumaba ako. I’m more than lucky to have this kind of life, so okey na ‘yan, ayos na ‘yan.
I suppose you’re working hard on that, you know…What workout do you do?
Juday: Since I gave birth the natural way, I didn’t have to wait long before I started exercising after only three months. Takbo-takbo ako around the village. I’ve taken up Yoga again.
Does Ryan run with you?
Juday: Sometimes.
Ryan: One time.
What about your diet?
Juday: I’m going to try a new diet. But I won’t say what I find it effective. Nakakahiya naman sabihin baka hindi mag-work. But I hope it will. Hmmmm, it’s a well-balanced diet, actually — a little carb, some sweets. If it works, I will tell everybody so they can try it.
Is Ryan trying that kind of diet, too?
Ryan (Joking): No. Gusto kong kumasya uli sa pang-kasal ko, eh.
Oh, for your golden wedding!
Juday (Joking, too): Yeah, for our golden wedding.
Five months after giving birth, do you still breastfeed Lucho?
Juday: Mixed na. Breastfeeding and formula. I can’t produce enough milk for Lucho.
Ryan, what’s your role naman in taking care of Lucho? Do you help in preparing the feeding bottles or changing his diapers?
Your decision?
Ryan: No, it just happened naturally because we have nurses who take care of Lucho and it’s them who guide Juday, and I try not to get in the way. What I do is take care of Yohan instead. Like, when Juday gives Lucho a bath, it’s my turn to also give Yohan a bath. It has gotten to a point where ako na ang nagblo-blower ng hair ni Yohan.
Juday: When Lucho was newly born, ayaw niyang hawakan.
Ryan: I can change diapers, but ‘yung No. 1 and No. 2 steps, hindi ko kaya.
I suppose your sleeping schedule was radically altered.

Juday: Only during the first month kasi tutok na tutok kami kay Lucho because he was on dextrose when we brought him home. He needed to be injected with antibiotic. Instead of staying longer at the (Asian) hospital, we decided to check out maski naka-dextrose si Lucho. Besides, I was eager to go home na, I was missing our bed, at gustong-gusto ko na magluto. I was missing everybody, including our dog.
Ryan, you’re on TV every day (Eat, Bulaga! on GMA) and on weekends (Talentadong Pinoy on TV5). How do you divide your time between work and family?
Ryan: Actually, with my schedule I’m just like an ordinary office worker. We tape Talentadong Pinoy Wednesday afternoon, and Eat, Bulaga! goes on Monday through Saturday. I usually wake up at 8 a.m. or 9 a.m. depending on how puyat I am the night before. I play with the kids for maybe half an hour and then I leave for work. Then, I’m home by 4 or 5 p.m. Except on Wednesdays when I tape, I spend all the weekdays with Juday and the kids.
How do you see to it that Yohan doesn’t get insecure with or jealous of Lucho?
Ryan: She’s an active participant in taking care of Lucho. We assigned her as Lucho’s bodyguard. She’s Baby No. 1 and Lucho is Baby No. 2, and since she’s No. 1 she has to be the protector.
Two years into your marriage, do you continue to discover things about each other?
Juday: Yeah. What they say is true — marriage is a never-ending learning process. Hindi man every day, may bago kayong nadi-discover sa isa’t-isa. Then you say, “Bakit ngayon lang ‘to lumabas?”
Like what?
Ryan: Like, the past year and a half we enjoyed together at home every night. Lately, we’ve started going out more often, kapag tulog na ang mga bata, mga 10 or 11 o’clock at night. We’re tired with the computer and we would look at each other and decide there and then, I would say, “Sweetheart, pagod na ako sa kako-computer, ilang gabi na akong hindi makatulog, labas naman tayo!”
Where do you go?
Juday: Kung saan-saan lang.
Ryan: We go to bars with friends, ganyan lang, and we go home pretty late.
Juday, you’re used to working since you were a child. Aren’t you bored with your present schedule? Don’t you miss showbiz?
Juday: Siempre nami-miss ko rin. And I’m thankful to clients (Like those behind Lactum and Samsung Air-con, their current endorsements. — RFL) and producers who give me the freedom to arrange my schedule, na ako ang magbigay ng oras, so I said, “Naku, Lord, thank you po!” They don’t pressure me to hurry up; they give me time to enjoy my kids. And that’s what I’m doing. Napaka-suwerte ko talaga!
How soon will you go back to work?
Juday: Siguro sa acting, not yet. But hopefully within this year, I might do one movie. Or a talk show which is not time-consuming, something that will not take me away from my kids for long periods of time, siguro ‘yung taping na twice or thrice a week lang na mabilis.
Okay with you, Ryan, for Juday to be a working wife/mother?
No do’s and don’t’s?
Ryan: Siempre, she should consider the welfare of the kids. More than that, whatever makes her happy. Sabi nga nila, ang sekreto ay “happy wife, happy life.” Hayaan mo siya! Hehehehe!
How has being a parent changed you?
We adjust sa time nila. This early, we are already planning kung saan mag-aaral si Yohan. You know, shall we give Yohan a celfone? Huwag muna! It’s too early. Mga ganyang concerns.
What about offers for the kids to be endorsers?
Juday: Rye and I will have to talk about it before we accept any deal. Siempre, bata ang involved, eh.
How many more kids do you want to have?
Ryan: One is enough for the meantime.
Juday: Actually, bahala na kung mabuo, thank you very much. Kung wala, it means God wants us to enjoy our two kids first.
Are you practising family planning, any birth control?
Ryan (Laughing): Control? Wala!
Juday (Gently elbowing Ryan): Ano ba?
Not even self-control?
Ryan: Not even.
Juday: Basta, bahala na si Lord! Hehehehe!

Judy Ann Santos narrates details about her Shanghai trip with Ryan Agoncillo

Judy Ann Santos was launched earlier today, March 17, as an additional endorser of Lactum. She now joins the ranks of Claudine Barretto, Jodi Sta. Maria and Carmina Villarroel.

During the press conference held at the Events Place in Quezon City, Juday happily shared details about her recent trip to Shanghai, China, with her husband Ryan Agoncillo.

The actress, who is still under contract with ABS-CBN, said that she is now preparing to host Junior Master Chef Pinoy Edition. She also said that there is a possibility for her to topbill a movie.

Judy Ann and Ryan Agoncillo uncover marriage bliss secrets

by Diana A. Uy

Two years into the marriage and Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo have found the secret to a happy union: Always have two separate blankets in bed.

“Kasi nag-aagawan kami sa kumot hanggang sa kinabukasan inaaway niya ako (we keep fighting over who gets the blanket. Sometimes it even carries over to the next day,)’’ says Santos, during the launch of Samsung’s latest air conditioners. The popular couple are the new endorsers of the electronics giant.

Agoncillo echoes the sentiment.

“We discovered that a few months into the marriage. Juday would hog the blanket, it doesn’t matter whether the blanket is big or small, she gets it all. I always end up with a cough the next day because my back gets exposed to the cold. So we decided, separate blankets for us,’’ he laughs.

The couple, who married in a fairytale ceremony last April 28, 2009 after nearly four years of being together, now have two kids—Yohan, six, and Lucio, five months—but still consider themselves newlyweds.

“I love it,’’ gushes Santos, referring to her current status as wife, mother and homemaker.

‘‘I am very relaxed. I am very contented with what I have now. Ayos na ayos ako.’’

“I’m happy as long as she’s happy,’’ says Agoncillo. “As long as she’s happy with what she’s doing... and she’s not bored or not deprived of what she wants to do then I’m okay. I can see how devoted she is to the kids.’’

This mutual concern for each other has made the couple ideal endorsers for Samsung’s latest line of digital appliances, including its latest eco-friendly, split-type, virus-safe which are perfect for the couple’s growing family.

Samsung’s new air conditioners are energy-efficient allowing users to save up to 50 percent in the electricity bill. The models were also designed to eliminate biological contaminants in the air such as viruses and bacteria through its revolutionary micro plasma ionizing technology.

Domestic diva

Santos, who took a break from her showbiz commitments to devote her time and attention to her family, is the picture of domestic bliss as she describes her typical day, which starts early in the morning. She checks up on Lucio, gives him a bath and then plays with Yohan right after. A family nurse sometimes helps her take care of her kids, alleviating some of the stress that motherly duties bring.

The drama princess sometimes cooks for her husband as well, depending on his diet and activity for the day.

“If he doesn’t have any duties on Eat Bulaga, or if he’s not on a diet, I’m the one who cooks for him. It depends on what his activities are for the day, say for example, he has taping for Talentadong Pinoy, I prepare the appropriate meals. Sometimes I prepare up to three separate meals. Ryan is not a picky eater, so I am able to find ways to work with his diet.’’

Santos is an accomplished chef, having earned a diploma from the Center for Asian Culinary Studies. In fact, she is set to host Junior Master Chef Pinoy Edition on ABS-CBN soon.

Room for improvement

Juday and Ryan appear to have transitioned fairly well into wedded bliss. Upon further probing however, both argue that, like most young married couples they are still adjusting to the new changes in their relationship routine and activities. Discovering new things about each other, they say, is a continuous process.

‘‘Decision making is a little more complicated, a little more complex now because we can’t just get up and go if we want to see a movie or travel abroad or go on a road trip,’’ shares Agoncillo.

He shares he has learned to be less abrasive now, following his wife’s lead in the art of subtle persuasion. ‘‘I learn a lot from her. I get to observe how she gets her way with people.’’

For her part, Santos appreciates the fact that not only has she gained a husband, she now has a 24/7 consultant/advisor as well. “He tells me the pros and cons of every issue and gives me a clear idea of my choices,’’ she avers.

Fringe benefits

All things considered, Juday and Ryan are thankful that they have known each other for as long as they did before getting hitched. Juday confesses that she is already used to picking up Ryan’s clothes left scattered, one-by-one, all over their home once he gets back from work. Not even his snoring bothers her anymore. Juday says she is not the OC (obsessive compulsive) or nagger type.

Ryan, meanwhile, now welcomes his wife’s sudden cravings in the middle of the night and Juday is not even pregnant. Or the fact that when Juday is really hungry, she sometimes forgets to “serve’’ Ryan at the dining table when normally she would see to it that her husband has his plate full first.

On the brighter side, both Juday and Ryan agree that family life has made them more creative and spontaneous with their relationship, keeping the flame burning.

Both like giving little surprises to each other once in a while: A fine dining dinner by their garden courtesy of Juday, for instance; or a surprise trip to China thanks to a well-conceived plan by Ryan.

The Agoncillos allow themselves small quarrels, too, simply because they want to.

“We actually try to come up with something to argue about [sometimes] because maganda rin na nag-aasarin ng konti. There's a lot of humor to it afterwards. Once in a while we try to give each other a hassle just for the heck of it,’’ says Ryan.

“We don't really plan,’’ says Juday. “We just live our life. A lot of things [can] happen in a month, for example. Something comes up and then you have to talk about it and then something comes up again. So we have to adjust to what's there.’’

Judy Ann Santos says she and Ryan Agoncillo want to be the best kind of parents

As they celebrate their second wedding anniversary this coming April 28, Judy Ann Santos said she feels lucky that she made the right decision to marry Ryan Agoncillo. “I discovered na he’s a very excellent father and husband as well. He’s a very good provider. May choice akong magpahinga habang nagbubuntis ako. And they make me take my time,” she said during the Lactum press conference where she was launched as the milk brand’s newest endorser last March 18 at the C55 Events Place in Quezon City.

The 32-year-old actress said there aren’t any special plans set yet for their anniversary, which is just fine with her. It’s just that kailangan lang talagang planuhin ng maayos. Sa anniversary, baka mag-dinner lang kami somewhere. Tapos na kami sa mga mahal na regalo so oras na para mag-ipon na uli,” she laughed.

When it comes to disputes, Judai shared that she and her husband always try to lessen any disagreements while in the household. Kasi importante yun eh. Ang pinaka-ayaw naming pinag-aawayan is money. Kasi money lang yan. Wala ng mas hihigit pang puwedeng pagsamahan ng mag-asawa kundi understanding, loyalty and love. If it’s about money already, parang dun yata nagkakasiraan ng maraming relasyon, hindi lang ang mag-aasawa. So we try not to talk about work when we’re home. Kumbaga bago maulit yun dapat pareho kaming lasing,” she joked.

Judai said she and Ryan have already decided to become supportive and open-minded parents to their kids Yohan and Lucio.

As she prepares to host Junior MasterChef by the end of the month, Judai admitted she is excited because she has long been a fan of the reality cooking series. “Mag-sa-start na kami ng auditions ng March 31 for the first 100 kids then down to 50, down to 20, I think. Nung buntis ako, yinu-You Tube ko talaga yan ng bonggang-bongga,” she admitted.

Judai said she has also asked Ryan for advice on how to be a good host. So kinakalma naman niya ako and sinasasabi niya sa akin yung mga do’s and don’ts sa hosting,” she said.

I also watch my diet pero kumakain pa rin ako nang pakaunti-kaunting sweets at carbohydrates.”

Good friends naman po ako with Sir Perci (Intalan, TV5′s head ng Creative and Entertainment Production).
“Pero panatag naman ako that ABS-CBN will give me good projects,” saad ng young superstar.
“Something came up that was very important noong araw na ‘yon-graduation ni Yohan.
“Sobrang apologetic ako sa Talentadong Pinoy kasi they’re family already. Two months before the grand finals, naka-oo na ako sa kanila.
But a week before the finals, sinabi ko sa kanila, ‘Pasensiya na,’ something came up. Naintindihan naman nila ako and I’m very thankful.

Judy Ann not ready for comeback

Moviegoer

MANILA, Philippines - JUST A THOUGHT: Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a positive attitude while waiting.

• • •

TWO COMEBACKS: First to admit she isn’t ready for either a big or small screen comeback is new mother Judy Ann Santos.

The drama star is taking it slowly, marking her return, so to speak, by way of a milk commercial, one for Lactum 6+. Juday admits she’s still overweight, joking that she came to that lunchtime promotional wearing two girdles hidden around her waist.

She spoke of a movie she’s supposed to shoot sometime soon in Las Vegas, where she’ll play an OFW. The matter was confirmed earlier by her long-time manager, Alfie Lorenzo.

Alfie would not mention which company is producing the movie, although he added that Juday’s entourage will include her two children, Yohan and Lucho.

Yohan makes her TVC debut through the Lactum 6+ commercial, which claims that mothers like Judy Ann can remain panatag (at peace) when their children drink the milk brand known for being a complete meal.

Judy Ann joins other celebrity mothers like Carmina Villaroel, Jodi Sta. Maria and Claudine Barretto as endorsers of the brand. Among the four, Judy Ann and Carmina appear like they’re the most panatag when it comes to their married life.

NO TO FAMILY PLANNING: Dissenters to the Reproductive Health Bill led by church leaders will be happy to find a supporter in the couple Ryan Agoncillo and Judy Ann Santos.

The actress said she and her husband are not engaging in family planning measures as they’re very much in favor of having another child (and some more) in the near future.

Judy Ann, already in her early 30s, wants a quick follow-up to Lucho, unmindful that another pregnancy could balloon her figure even more. Juday said she has started her own lose-weight program to prepare for a real showbiz comeback.

“I want to look good in my next film,” she said.

The comeback film, however, will be preempted by an ABS-CBN reality-cooking show, “Junior Master Chef,” which Judy Ann will host starting June. Note that the actress also now wears another hat, that of a chef’s

If Juday were an appliance she’d be … a microwave

JUDY Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo were aglow when I interviewed them at the launch of their new endorsement, Samsung. If Juday were an appliance, what would she be? “A microwave,” Ryan nonchalantly said.
The couple had their second honeymoon in Shanghai recently. “I didn’t know Ryan was taking me to China,” said Juday. “I thought we were just lunching out. Wala akong dalang damit. Dun na kami nag-shopping.”
When will Juday be back at work? “I thought I’d get bored at home,” she said. “But I’m still enjoying myself.”
What about rumors linking Ryan to Diana Meneses? “No truth to that at all,” Ryan clarified. “I stay away from temptation.”
What’s the hardest part of being married to a superstar? “It’s hard to make her stop shopping and going to the spa,” he revealed.
Anything new that Juday discovered about Ryan? “He won’t take no for an answer!”
Couples like Juday and Ryan give show biz marriages a good name.

JUDY ANN SANTOS, MAGPAPAPAYAT MUNA BAGO MAGBALIK-PELIKULA!

March 21 | Posted by Eddie Littlefield |

JUDY ANN SANTOS-AGONCILLO as a mother constantly worries about her child’s nutritional well-being just like any other mom. She’s also a chef, having taken up culinary studies, which means that anything related to food and feeding is immediately within her scope of concern and expertise. She’s excitedly shares that Yohan loves the taste of Lactum 6+.

So far, enjoy naman si Yohan sa paggawa niya ng commercial, so, napanatag naman niya ako, puwede na akong mag-relax,” Juday’s reaction while doing a commercial with her daughter Yohan.

Nahirapan din pala si Juday i-motivate ang anak doing the commercial.“’Yung first day shooting niya, medyo may pagpapatulong luhang naganap, pero after awhile, ‘yung pangalawang araw na niya, iniiwan na niya ako sa dressing room.

Much harder for me ngayon na umalis ng matagal sa bahay. At the same time, I’ll try to explain to them na si Mommy, unti-unti nang nagtatrabaho so, may kaunting bonding time na mangyayari.

Kung may dumating pang isa, go, ‘di ba?

“’Yung pagbabalik pelikula, I might do one movie this year, aaralin muna namin kung alin sa kanila ‘yung gagawin.

After that, baka may isa pa, so, ‘yun pa lang sa ngayon.

Judy Ann Santos explains why she was a no-show at the finale of Talentadong Pinoy on TV5

Judy Ann Santos happily recalled how she was "kidnapped" by her husband, Ryan Agoncillo, for a four-day trip to Shanghai, China. She thought they were just going to the movies.
Pagdating namin dun, may libreng shopping," she said.

Judy Ann Santos was overwhelmed by the support shown by members of the press yesterday, March 17, when she was launched as the newest endorser of Lactum milk product.

Executives of Mead Johnson clarified that Juday (Judy Ann's nickname) is an addition (and not a replacement) to their celebrity endorsers Claudine Barretto, Jodi Sta. Maria and Carmina Villarroel.

Juday has been away from the limelight since she gave birth to her son Juan Luis (Baby Lucho) last October 7, 2010.

Her fans were excited when it was reported that she would be appearing at the finale of Talentadong Pinoy on TV5. Unfortunately, she was not seen on either the performance night (March 12) or the results night (March 13).

During the press con held at the Events Place in Quezon City, Juday explained her non-appearance in the reality talent search hosted by her husband, Ryan Agoncillo.

"Something came up that was very important noong araw na 'yon—graduation ni Yohan.

But the actress promised to make up for her no-show. "Sobrang apologetic ako sa Talentadong Pinoy kasi they're family already. Two months before the grand finals, naka-oo na ako sa kanila.

"But a week before the finals, sinabi ko sa kanila, 'Pasensiya na,' something came up. Naintindihan naman nila ako and I'm very thankful. Sabi ko, babawi ako ng bonggang-bongga!"

Juday was asked if she has plans of doing a project for TV5.

"Nakakontrata pa po ako [sa ABS-CBN]," said the actress. Good friends naman po ako with Sir Perci [Intalan, TV5's head of Creative and Entertainment Production].

"Pero panatag naman ako that ABS-CBN will give me good projects," she said.

The newest endorser of Lactum said she enjoys taking care of their two kids, six-year old Yohan and five-month old Juan Luis (more popularly known as Baby Lucho).

"Si Yohan mahilig kumanta, mahilig sumayaw at may sarili siyang cooking show pag nagluluto kami. Marami siyang gustong gawin... gusto na ngang makipag-date."

When does she plan to return to showbiz?

After that, baka may isa pa," she revealed.

Juday also mentioned that she would like to do one movie this year.

SHANGHAI TRIP. Juday also happily recalled how she was "kidnapped" by her husband, Ryan Agoncillo, for a four-day trip to Shanghai, China.

"Kinidnap ako ng asawa ko," she joked. "Actually, it was a post-Valentine gift. So sabi ko, 'Sige.' Then he said, 'I'll pick you up at 7 a.m.'

"Lunch at 7 a.m.? Parang napakaaga.

Judy Ann Santos prepares for comeback

Actress Judy Ann Santos, is onto her latest mission, to lose weight.

Ryan Agoncillo’s wife gained weight during her pregnancy with their first child, Juan “Lucho” Luis.

Santos insisted she is already on a diet and has been going to the gym.

"Lucho is now 5 months old. I started going back to gym when Lucho turned 3 months. On the 3rd month, doon pa lang ako nagtatakbo ng paunti-unti para hindi mabinat, naggi-gym, nagda-diet pero unti-unti," she said.

She said she is doing it “to be comfortable with myself” and regain her confidence. "I just really want to feel good….. You want to dress up the way you used to be. Kasi ngayon very limited and clothes na susuutin mo kasi marami kang itinatago. Hindi po, sadyang may fats lang ako,” she told reporters during the launching of her first endorsement as a mother, "Lactum."

Judy Ann Santos shares details of her surprise honeymoon with Ryan Agoncillo

3/18/2011 8:20 AM
by: Rhea Manila Santos

After giving birth to son Lucho last October 2010, Judy Ann Santos faced the media for the very first time this year as she was launched as Lactum 6+’s newest endorser. The 32 year-old stars in the milk brand’s newest commercial along with her six-year-old adopted daughter Yohan. During the event, Juday could not contain her surprise at the press turnout. It’s really nice to see familiar faces again. Thank you for really welcoming me again,” she said.

Judai, who is set to host ABS-CBN’s summer reality show Junior Master Chef, gamely answered questions and shared that Ryan recently surprised her with an impromptu trip to Shanghai as a sort of post-Valentine’s celebration. “Nung gabi, sabi niya maglu-lunch daw kami ng maaga. Tapos yun nga, gumising siya ng maaga. Tapos nagbihis na ako, dinala niya ako sa Resorts World tapos may pinakuha siya sa aking envelope sa bag. Nakita ko yung passport naming dalawa tapos yung itinerary namin sa Shanghai at yung e-ticket” she recalled.

The drama actress was caught totally off-guard that she was not even dressed properly for the trip. Kaya pala nung umaga na nasa bahay sinabi ni Ry sa akin na, ‘Sweetheart, I think you have to wear closed shoes.’ So yun sinuot ko.

The couple, who will be celebrating their second wedding anniversary this coming April 28, finally got to celebrate a honeymoon of sorts after being so busy this past couple of months. “Actually wala pa naman kaming honeymoon talaga. Kasi nung mag-ha-honeymoon pa lang kami nung after ng first anniversary namin, nabuntis na ako agad (laughs). Dun ko talaga sobrang na-enjoy yung moments naming mag-asawa. Kasi after giving birth, kailangan magkaroon talaga ng hindi naman second honeymoon pero parang alone time niyong dalawa kasi for so many months, puyat ka tapos wala ka ng time for yourself, nag-aalaga ka ng ibang tao. Tapos nung time naming nun sa Shanghai, sobra talaga niya akong pinamper. Sabi ko, ‘Puwede bang every year ganito?’” she admitted.

The couple spent four days and three nights in a five-star hotel which made their trip a really memorable escapade. Tapos yung pagdating namin dun, may libreng shopping pa. Ang bongga. Para kaming mga bata ulit. Kasi after naming makasal, even before kami makasal, matagal na yung last alis namin na kaming dalawa lang eh. Ngayon lang talaga yung na-enjoy namin yung being together for four days at nagagawa lang namin yung gusto namin. Lakwatsa tapos nagclu-clubbing lang kami, parang bagets na dalaga at binata, bakit hindi ‘di ba?” she said.

During their stay in Shanghai, Ryan’s parents stepped in to take care of the couple’s two children, Yohan and Lucho. Judai had no idea that almost everyone was in on her husband’s surprise, including their six-year-old daughter. “Si Yohan naman, alam na pala niya all this time na aalis kami. Kaya pala nung aalis na kami, nung naligo na ako, sabi niya, ‘Mommy, you know what, me and Lucho are going to miss you.’ Sabi ko pa, ‘We’ll just have lunch, pagbalik namin we will play, we’ll go to a spa and we’ll have a massage.’ Kasi yun ang bonding namin, yung magpamasahe kami. Tapos sinabi niya sa akin na, ‘You know, Daddy has a surprise for you,’ pero hindi niya sinabi. Sana man lang kahit paano may clue ‘di ba?” she shared.

The hands-on mother of two couldn’t hide how proud she was of how Yohan handled that situation. “Masaya ako kasi very mature inatake ni Yohan yung situation.

Judy Ann Santos is glad that the rift between Sarah Geronimo and Cristine Reyes is over

by: Rhea Manila Santos

Now that she is slowly easing back into the limelight after an almost one-year hiatus from showbiz, Judy Ann Santos couldn’t help but air her opinion on the recent rift between Kapamilya stars Sarah Geronimo and Cristine Reyes. Although they had reportedly grown very close while working on a film together last year, the 32-year-old actress denies that she and Sharon Cuneta automatically took sides when the issue first came out that Sarah was being attacked via Twitter by Cristine. “Wala namang pagkakamping nangyari. Hello, wala kaming kinampihan. Sino naman kami?” she asked during her launch as Lactum milk’s newest endorser last March 17 at the C55 Events Place in Quezon City.

Judai, who is set to host ABS-CBN’s cooking reality show Junior Master Chef at the end of this month, wanted to make it clear that she will always be a big sister to Sarah. “Away nila yan, hindi kami dapat nakikisali. Nakakatawa lang isipin na pati kami nadadamay. Pero we are just here to guide Sarah and hopefully maging tulay para magkaayos-ayos sana lahat pero hindi yun yung nangyari.

Judai also hoped that the rumors about Cristine not appreciating the Megastar’s supposed meddling are not true. “Alam mo, wala akong alam dun. Sana talaga hindi,” she stressed.

The actress hoped things will be better for Sarah this year, although she said battling intrigues about their personal life is a trade-off that all celebrities must face. “Sarah is a smart girl. I guess she has said enough. She has explained her side and kung naintindihan man yun ng mga tao, thank you very much. Sa mga taong hindi nakaintindi, pasensya siguro pero ako, I’m just happy na nasabi ni Sarah yung gusto niya sabihin and tapos na, okay na. Everybody happy. May bagong pelikula yung bata. Pagdadaanan niya yan eh. Pagdaanan at pagdaanan niya yan and I guess, she really has to surpass this challenge. Ayos lang yan, meron pa yan,” she said.

Although she is slowly accepting more projects this year, Judai said she has not had the chance to spend time with either Sharon or Sarah lately because taking care of her kids Yohan and Lucho is her top priority.

Judy Ann Santos says she's now on a diet

by Reyma Buan-Deveza, abs-cbnNEWS.com

MANILA, Philippines – After giving birth, actress Judy Ann Santos is taking on a new challenge – losing weight.

Santos, wife of actor-host Ryan Agoncillo, gained weight while pregnant with their first child, Juan “Lucho” Luis.

Santos said she is already on a diet and has started jogging and gym works.

She added: "Kung mataba ako at mataba din ang nagsabi sa akin na mataba ako, ang tanong ko na lang, 'Nabuntis ka na ba para sabihing mataba ako?'" she said.

Showbiz comeback

The actress said she's enjoying married life. She also had a blast during her long break from show business.

Ilang years nag-trabaho naman ako so ito lang talaga ang first time na nagpahinga ako ng ganitong kahaba, parang kulang pa nga," she said.

After her 10-month leave, Santos is now preparing for her upcoming show on ABS-CBN, "Junior Master Chef.”

"Mag-start kami ng audition sa March 31 for the first 100 kids, then down to 50 then to 20. Excited ako kasi ang daming batang magagaling na nag-au-audition," she said.

The actress admitted that she's also excited to do acting projects. Santos said she might do a film before the year ends and a television series next year.

Reports said she will do a movie alongside "showbiz sisters" Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo.

Tuturuan ko silang bumelt, bobongga kami ng tili," she said.

Meanwhile, Santos, a contract star of ABS-CBN, also denied talk that she is moving to a rival network.

"May kontrata pa ako [sa ABS-CBN]," she clarified. -Report by Reyma Buan-Deveza, abs-cbnNEWS.com

Judy Ann Santos prepares to host Junior MasterChef Pinoy

Judy Ann Santos is glad that ABS-CBN's remake of Mara Clara is well received by viewers, based on data from both AGB Nielsen and Kantar Media.

During her launch as the newest Lactum endorser, Juday (Judy Ann's nickname) said that she is happy about the success of the teleserye that launched her to stardom.

"Oo naman kasi dun ako nakilala, e. Yun yung nagpakilala sa akin sa mga tao," she says about the TV series that aired for five years on ABS-CBN. Juday played the title role of Mara, which is now being portrayed by Kapamilya teen star Kathryn Bernardo. The kontrabida role of Clara was originally brought to life by Gladys Reyes and is now being reprised by Julia Montes.

Kasi I can see kung gaano nila pinaghihirapan yung trabaho nila, yung craft nila."

She also gives this advice to the teen stars of the show: "Wag muna kayo magbo-boyfriend ha."

JUNIOR MASTERCHEF. Juday has been acting in teleseryes and movies for several years now. This time, she will add TV host to her resume.

She will soon host the Philippine version of Junior MasterChef, a cooking game show for kids aged 8-12 years old. It has been aired successfully in Great Britain and Australia.

How is she preparing to be the host of this cooking show?

"Nagtatanong nga ako kay Ry [her husband Ryan].

Juday then revealed that they will start auditions this month. "Start na kami ng auditions ng March 31 then pipili ng 100 kids then down to 50 then down to 20, I think.

"Excited ako kasi ang daming batang magagaling na nag-au-audition...Mahal na mahal ko itong show na 'to kasi pinapanood ko talaga ito. Nung buntis ako, nag-Youtube talaga ako [para manood]."

The actress-turned-TV host hopes to bond with the contestants of Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition.

Juday also revealed that she has been honing her cooking skills during her time as a full-time mother.

"Nagbalik ako sa culinary and magle-lecture uli ako sa CACS [Center for AsianCulinary Studies] at may OJT ako for six hours sa iba't ibang restaurants."

Juday, gagawa ng pelikula sa Tate

***

Well, tama naman sila.

uday doon with a new leading man in CM!

Anoh? Naghihintay pa sila ng mag-aareglo? Depende sa usapan? May aregluhan bang nagaganap diyan?

Anong kailangang pagbotohan at pagdeliberasyunan?

And why?

And FPJ too refused to attend the ceremony dahil ayaw raw niya koronahan siyang box-office king na walang queen!

Is that fair and square? Kung sadyang karapat-dapat sa awards, kagalit mo man o kaaway, dapat lang bigyan in the name of fairness!

There’s no doubt na sina Bong, Vic at Ai Ai ang true winners.

Gabby dictates Juday's additional talent fee

“Naghintay sila (Lactum management) ng three-four years dito.

Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo answer tough questions from six-year-old daughter Yohan

Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo answer tough questions from six-year-old daughter Yohan

So for a child like her parang wala lang iyon talaga, pero sa tulad namin ni Ryan, parang ang hirap sagutin.

Then unti-unti naming sinasabi sa kanya na, 'Alam mo anak, you're like them, too. But now you have a mommy and a daddy. And we love you very much.'

Through that, medyo naiintindihan niya.

"Kaya very thankful ako sa Mead Johnson dahil kinuha kami ni Yohan to endorse Lactum 6+.

Gusto kong maging close silang magkakapatid."

WORKING OUT

"Kapag may mahaba-haba akong time talaga, doon lang ako nakakapag-exercise. Pinapa-lose na nga nila ako ng weight dahil may isang movie akong gagawin this year at mag-host din ako noong Junior Master Chef. For that show, nag-aral pa ulit ako ng isang short course ng culinary arts.

About to be solo endorser si Judy Ann Santos ng Lactum.
First time nag-public appearance for a presscon si Juday for Lactum, also first time nagbigay ng press conference.

Now, Lactum has been running a campaign for so long with three other celebrity mothers.

Judy Ann Santos on parenting, nutrition and the sweet life

JUDAI IN CHIKA MINUTE VIDEO HERE
18 Mar 2011 | 08:45 AM
Get to know her showbiz comeback plans and how Lactum’s promise of 100% nourishment keeps her panatag.

She’s taken on some of th
e most iconic roles on Philippine TV, but now she’s taking on one of the toughest roles to play in real life – motherhood.

Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, the newest “Panatag Mom” to join the growing family of Lactum moms recently shared to STIR.PH her experiences as a mother and wife, her showbiz comeback and her latest project – as an endorser of the milk brand, Lactum, together with her 6-year old child, Yohan.

On her video shoot with Yohan

Coming back from a brief break from acting, Judy Ann returns to face the public eye as a “Panatag Mom.” Juday, as her fans fondly call her, shares how her daughter Yohan enjoyed their video shoot for the commercial.

“May pagpapatulo ng luhang naganap nung unang araw ng [shooting].”

Yohan even wanted to stay after the shoot was done.

And Yohan was so excited about the final comercial.

“Ginising niya ako [nung unang makita niya yung commercial], inabangan niya lagi yung commercial niya.”
“Mommy I’m gonna be famous now,” Yohan said after seeing the Lactum commercial.

“No, study first,” Mommy Juday responded to her.

When asked whether she’d support Yohan if she wanted to enter showbiz, Juday responds, “Sa pag-arte, siguro pagiisipan muna. Pero sa commercials, as long as gusto niya, at ginagamit niya talaga yung produkto, okay lang."
On nutrition

Just like any mom, Juday finds it hard to make sure that Yohan has a proper diet, her child keeps asking for cheesedog and French fries.

Good thing Juday is a chef and so she comes up with funny tricks to make Yohan eat healthy food.

“Sabi sa food pyramid, mahalaga ang vegetables, so I try to sneak vegetables into her meals. For example, gagawa ako ng spinach soup, but I tell her it’s ‘Shrek soup’ para kainin niya.”

Add to that Yohan’s fondness to drinking milk.

“She likes drinking milk so 100% nourished siya… so if she likes to eat French Fries, go ahead darling!"

“Sugar is part of the food pyramid; and like everything in the food pyramid, it’s good for the body when taken in proper amounts,” she adds. She also stresses that sugar contributes to the taste of milk, moms don’t have to compromise taste because they want complete nutrition for their kids.

On Ryan’s sweet gesture

Ryan Agoncillo, Juday’s husband recently surprised her with what she said as “pinakasweet na nangyari sa akin.”

They were only supposed to watch a movie and eat lunch at Resorts World, but when they were there already, Ryan told her, “You get that envelope, go check it out.”

“Nakita ko nandun yung passport namin, tapos Shanghai itinerary, tapos e-ticket,” she shared.

Thankfully they pushed through. “After giving birth, importante rin na may alone time kayong [mag-asawa].”

“Nung time na yun, sobrang pinamper niya ako.”

On her plans for 2011

It looks like the upcoming year will spell a comeback for one of the Philippines’ biggest stars.
“I might do one movie, aaralin muna kung ano ang dapat gawin. Gusto ko dikalibre naman yung gagawin ko.”

“Nakapila rin yung Junior Masterchef Philippines. March 26 hanggang June yan.”
