Actress Judy Ann Santos could only give a wry remark when asked about talk that her husband Ryan Agoncillo is seeing budding actress Isabelle Daza behind her back.
“O, si Isabelle naman ngayon. Ano ba ‘yan? Patawarin n’yo naman ‘yung bata, susmaryosep naman,” she said in a report aired on “H.O.T. TV,” April 28.
Romance rumors between Ryan and his “Eat Bulaga” co-host Isabelle surfaced recently with many “observing” their extra closeness on the show.
Judy Ann believes nothing romantic is brewing between them at all and that “nag-e-enjoy lang naman ‘yung bata sa ginagawa niya.”
“Saka isa pa, si Bel (ay) napaka-charming na babae niyan, napakasarap kausap. I love her. Bilang Daza siya (ay) mahal ko ang buong pamilya niya dahil masarap silang magluto.”
Likewise, the drama actress belied reports that she and Ryan had reached Splitsville.
“Kasama ako sa Hong Kong and nagkaroon kami ng chance na makapag-bonding,” she said.
She is more than amused over reports that Isabelle was rumored to be the third wheel in the collapse of their marriage.
“Nakakatawa lang isipin na, ‘di ba, ‘yung mga bagong pasok ay ini-issue-han agad nila. Bigyan naman natin sila ng chance na enjoy-in nila ang show business na walang intriga. I’m sure ‘yun lang naman ang gusto nilang marating, ‘yung mabwisit kaming mag-asawa.”
Aware about the breakup rumors, Juday related that “ako pa nga ‘yung nagsabi sa kanya, ‘Oy, annulled na raw tayo?’ Sabi ko, dahil diyan…’Ah, kung gano’n puwede kitang pakasalan uli.”
“Nu’ng lumabas ‘yung issue na ‘yan ay natawa kami. Parang saan nanggaling ‘yun? Paano nangyari ‘yun? Natawa na lang kami pero alam mo ‘yon, hindi naman talaga namin iniinda kasi parang part naman siguro kasi ng pagiging showbiz couple,” she said.
“Nakakatawa lang isipin na me mga nakapag-isip kaagad ng ganoon, eh, wala namang basehan. Pero okay lang, at least nasa utak nila kami. Ibig sabihin, eh, nagpa-function ang mga pangalan namin sa mga utak ng bawat tao,” Judy Ann added.

Sam Milby was quick to refute speculations that his recently-concluded teleserye Kahit Konting Pagtingin was cut short due to low ratings. Previous reports also mentioned that his co-star Angeline Quinto had been constantly criticized for her acting skills which might have affected the soap’s performance. “No, it’s not that. The plan really was for it to run for 13 weeks. Naka-13 weeks naman. That was really the plan,” said Sam in an interview with Push.com.ph. 

Nevertheless, the Rockoustic Heartthrob is looking forward to his next teleserye Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala opposite the Queen of Teleserye Judy Ann Santos. When asked if he’s ready to match Judy Ann’s dramatic performance and become the King of Teleserye, Sam maintained that he’d rather focus on improving his craft than dwell on his status in showbiz. “Yung mga title title [hindi ko iniisip] basta gusto ko lang ibigay best ko at sana maging maganda pagtanggap ng kapamilya nating manonood. I’m very happy kasi kakaiba yung role na ginagawa ko dito. It’s a different Sam na makikita ng mga tao. It’s a very grey role. Excited ako.Maybe it will air sometime in June.”

Although he didn’t have the chance to watch Judy Ann’s previous soaps, Sam attested to the fact that she hasn’t lost her sparkle to this day. “Yung working relationship namin, hindi naman ako lumaki dito sa Pilipinas, I didn’t get to watch her projects. But working with her sa mga eksena, magaling talaga si Judy Ann. Sometimes nai-intimidate ako kasi ang galing talaga. Tapos minsan sa eksena nabubulol ako minsan lalo na kapag kasama ko siya kasi prine-pressure ko sarili ko.” Sam added that he reads Tagalog tongue twisters everyday to improve his grasp of the language.

In the meantime, Sam is thrilled because Adolfo Alix Jr.’s indie movie Death March—where he is top-billed together with Zanjoe Marudo, Ejay Falcon, Carlo Aquino, and Sid Lucero—will be screened at Cannes Film Festival next month. The said indie film will be pitted against 14 other foreign entries for the Un Certain Regard Section, along with another Filipino film, Norte, Hangganan ng Kasaysayan, directed by Lav Diaz.

Inamin ni Sam na nabubulol siya minsan kapag kaeksena niya ang young superstar.    

Kuwento niya, “Mag-e-air na, I think, maybe June. Hindi naman ako lumaki dito sa Pilipinas, I haven’t watched yung mga projects niya.

“But working with her, watching her sa mga eksena, sobrang magaling talaga si Judy Ann.

“Sometimes nai-intimidate ako, ang galing talaga! Minsan sa mga eksena, nabubulol ako minsan.

    

“May mga times lalo na pag kasama ko siya, magaling talaga siya, pini-force ko ang sarili ko talaga na pagbutihan.”

Para mahasa siya sa pagta-Tagalog, madalas nagbabasa si Sam ng mga local publications.

“May binabasa ako everyday. Basta tongue twisters, mga ganoon.”

A nonscandal

The big rumor on Monday was that Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo filed for annulment last week. The couple’s individual camps vehemently denied this. 

Alfie Lorenzo, Santos’ manager, told Rushes: “They just arrived from a vacation in Vietnam.” Noel Ferrer, Agoncillo’s manager, said that Santos had just taped an episode of “Talentadong Pinoy Worldwide” for her husband’s birthday celebration, for airing next week. 

The managers said there was something fishy about the gossip. Lorenzo noted: “Juday never had any scandal in her entire career. Some people are envious.”

Sharon-Nora project sa TV5, malabo!

Mabibigo ang mga nangangarap na magsama sa isang movie ang superstar na si Nora Aunor at megastar na si Sharon Cuneta, kahit pareho silang contract star ng TV5.


Maganda sanang ideya na magtambal sina Ate Guy at Shawie sa isang pelikula ng Kapatid Network, pero ayon na rin kay Sharon ay wala siyang naririnig na movie na pagsasamahan nila ni Ate Guy.


Nagpahayag naman si Sharon ng pagnanais na makasama si La Aunor sa isang project, pero sa pagkakaalam niya ay ang balik-tambalan nila ni Gabby Concepcion ang mauuna at ang kasunod ay ang pagsasama nilang muli ni Judy Ann Santos.


Kuwento nga ni Sharon, masaya at cute ang pagkikita nila ni Ate Guy sa Christmas party ng TV5 last year.


Maging ang naunang planong pagsasama nila ng Star for All Seasons na si Batangas Governor Vilma Santos sa isang pelikula ng Star Cinema ay hindi na rin natuloy. Ayon kay Sharon, laging nauudlot ang project at tuwing nand’yan na raw ang project ay napapalitan ng ibang stars.





Bukas pa rin naman si Sharon sa ideyang magsama sila sa isang pelikula ni Vilma, pero malabo raw itong mangyari sa Star Ci­nema dahil exclusive ang co-production deal niya sa TV5 at Viva Films.

So, putol na talaga ang ties niya sa Star Cinema?


“Ay, naku I love Tita Malou (Santos). Unfortunately now, because the deal with TV5 is big and one those page that was brought up, Viva and I, our company will be co-producing films with TV5. So, malamang matatagalan bago ako makagawa with Star Cinema.

Pero kung pwede lang bukas pwede, gagawa ako agad.”

“Meron nga pala akong director na dream ko na maidirek kami uli (ni Gabby), pero hindi ko masasabi. Pero mas matutuloy ang Sharon-Gabby, sa March ang start,” sambit pa ng megastar.


Anyway, excited na nga si Sharon sa pagsasama nila ni Martin Nievera sa isang concert, ang Once In A Lifetime sa Smart Araneta Coliseum sa Pebrero.


“I’m just so proud that I’m going to be singing with Martin for the first time in a full concert, sharing the stage with him na talagang right down the middle, kasi Concert King ‘yan. He may be you’re friend but that’s all beside the point.


“He’s Martin Nievera and I’m privileged that he’s doing that show with me. Saka iba’ng boses ni Martin, aminin na natin ‘yan. Isa lang si Martin. Isa lang si Basil Valdez up to this date, in fairness. Maraming singer pero isa lang ang Concert King. Just like Mr. Pure Energy (Gary Valenciano). Sana lahat makasama ko.”

MY HOUSE HUSBAND. Tinanong din ng PEP si Direk Joey tungkol sa kanyang 2011 Metro Manila Film Fest entry na My House Husband, na pinagbibidahan ng mag-asawang Judy Ann Santos at Ryan Agoncillo.

"A, it's pretty cool!" bulalas niya tungkol sa kanyang pelikula.

"May shooting kami, medyo lang nagkaroon ng aberya, because we have to pack up because of the storm.

"But otherwise, we are proceeding according to schedule."

Kumusta naman ang working experience niya with Juday and Ryan again?

"A, we have known each other for quite some time, hindi ba?

"Like in this movie that we're doing together, a... it's not really any problem.

"Plus the fact na from Kasal Kasali Kasalo, up to now that we're doing My House Husband, a lot of changes have taken place.

"I met them when they were still magnobyo-magnobya, now they're parents, okay...

"Now they're married and now they're my neighbors, so the relationship has transpired tremendously."

What's My House Husband about?

"My House Husband is about a man named Rod [Ryan] who is forced by circumstances to take care of his family and do the house chores.

"While his wife [Judy Ann] had to be the one to take on a job.

"So this is a phenomena na very current right now," saad ni Direk Joey.

RYAN 'S TRANSFORMATION. Naibahagi rin ni Direk Joey sa PEP kung gaano kalaki ang naging transformation ni Ryan dito sa pelikulang ito.

Dahil nga My House Husband ang title ng pelikula, nakasentro sa kanya ang istorya.

Sa una'y naging mahirap daw ito para kay Ryan, subalit ayon kay Direk Joey, marami naman daw natutunan ang actor-TV host.

"Well, unang-una, hindi siya... hindi siya marunong magluto.

"E, dito, OC [obsessive compulsive] siya sa cleanliness, natuto siyang...

"Madaling mag-utos, e, mahirap gumawa, di ba?

"Madaling sabihin na gusto mong malinis ang iyong bahay, mahirap maglinis ng bahay.

"In this case, natuto siya kung paano maglinis, natuto siya kung paano magluto, at na-realize niya na nakakapagod yung trabahong yun.

"At higit sa lahat, ni-learn niyang irespeto na hindi kababawan ng katauhan yung gumagawa ng household work, because that requires equal dedication."

FEEL na feel ng mag-asawang Ryan Agoncillo at Judy Ann Santos ang roles nila sa pelikulang My Househusband: Ikaw Na! Kuwento ni Ryan, “Dalawang taon na ang itinakbo matapos kaming ikasal kaya medyo alam na alam na namin ang relationship ng mag-asawa. “Mas marami na ka*ming alam ngayon unlike in our previous movies together. “Yung pagiging mag-asawa dati, purely acting. Ibang-iba na talaga ngayon. “Magse-seven years old na si Yohan. Si Lucho naman, malapit na ang first birthday. Sobrang relate na talaga kami sa role bilang parents.” Ang My Househus*band: Ikaw Na! ay isang light family co*medy tungkol sa buhay ng mag-asawa na sa hindi inaasahang pagkakataon ay nagkaroon ng reversal of roles. Si Rod (Ryan Agoncillo) ang naiiwan sa bahay matapos magkaroon ng aberya sa kanyang trabaho. Si Mia (Judy Ann Santos) ang nagtatrabaho. Iginiit ni Ryan na hindi “andres de saya” ang tema ng pelikula kahit parang nagkapalit sila ng tungkulin ni Juday sa istorya. “It’s not as if Rod is a yes man. He still gets to wear the pants in the family except that he also dons the apron come meal times,” lahad ni Ryan. Bilang siya ang sumulat ng script, at siya rin ang director, alam na alam na niya kung ano ang gusto niya kaya madali din sa mga artista niya na maibigay ang hinihingi ng bawat eksena. “Basta magreport ka sa set na handa ka, very fluid ang trabaho. “Direk knows how to strike the balance between maintaining a happy set and keeping everything running with clockwork precision.” Noong nabasa ng mag-asawa ang script, naunawaan nila right away ang mga damdamin at sitwasyon na pinagdaanan ng mga character sa istorya. Sabi ni Ryan, na-feel nila ang mga situations nila. Iyung ibang pinagdaanan ni Mia, pinagdaanan niya bilang asawa. Sey naman ni Juday, “May situations din dito sa pelikula na naka-relate ako sa reaction ni Rod. “Kasi, sa tunay na buhay, parang ganoon din ang mararamdaman ko kung sa akin talaga nangyari. “Hindi stereotypical ang role ko dito bilang asawa, ha? Hindi ako maingay, masalita or mabunganga. “Si Rod naman, very principled siya but with a lot of heart. Basta, maganda… “Ang hope namin, after watching the movie, lalabas ka na mas nauunawaan ang buhay mag-asawa, na kahit may mga problema, kapag hinarap mo nang tama, mas magiging matatag ang pagsasama ninyo bilang pamilya.”

ABS-CBN soars high on primetime TV

More households in the Philippines tune in to ABS-CBN to be entertained and informed especially when TV levels peak at its highest during primetime from 6 PM to 12 midnight. Data from Kantar Media showed that ABS-CBN remains to be the number one TV network with a national audience share of 43 percent in August primetime or a whopping 13-point lead over GMA's 30 percent. Advertisers, which invest majority of their TV ad spending on primetime, look at the TV ratings and audience shares of programs and TV networks to place their TV commercials in order to reach more households as frequently and efficiently as possible.

ABS-CBN programs secured 13 out of the top 15 most-watched programs in the country, making it the top choice for advertisers to put their advertising budget.
The multi-awarded and longest running drama anthology in Asia “MMK” (33.7%) hosted by ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio took the top spot followed by weekday top-rater “100 Days to Heaven” (31%) and the recently concluded top-caliber action-drama series “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin” (30.9%).

“TV Patrol” also ruled all newscasts in the country and secured the sixth spot with an average national rating of 28.6% as compared to its rival “24 Oras” with only 19.5%. New programs “My Binondo Girl” (28%), “Junior Masterchef Pinoy Edition” (27.8%), and “Maria La Del Barrio” (22.6%) also fared well on its pilot airings and instantly rose to ranks of the monthly top 15. Other Kapamilya programs in top 15 most-watched programs nationwide for August are “Pilipinas Got Talent (Sunday)” (29.5%), Pilipinas Got Talent (Saturday)” (28.6%), “Guns and Roses” (27%), “Rated K” (26.3%), “Mula sa Puso” (23.5%), and “Junior Masterchef Pinoy Edition: The Appetizer” (22.9).

ABS-CBN obtained a national TV audience share of 36% in August, higher than GMA's 35%.  Kantar Media has 22 TV networks, ad agencies, and pan-regional networks subscribing to its ratings services. Among its current subscribers are ABS-CBN, NBN, Sky Cable, J. Romero and Associates, Adformatix, Starcom, OMD, PhD, Mediacom, Mindshare, MEC, Maxus, Universal McCann, and Wellmade Manufacturing Corporation. They also include pan-regional networks likes CSM Media Inc., Fox International Channels, Star HK, Discovery, AXN, HBO, MTV, and Sony Pictures Television International.

ABS-CBN shifted to Kantar Media/TNS after filing a case vs. AGB Nielsen Media Research for failing to comply with its request to investigate alleged cheating and data tampering in TV ratings. The case is still pending in court.  ABS-CBN registered a consolidated net income of P976 million in the first three months of 2011, while GMA Network reported a P534 million net income in the same period. ABS-CBN’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization or EBITDA hit P2.1 billion in the first quarter of 2011 while GMA Network’s EBITDA was P926 million.  ABS-CBN delivered consolidated revenues of P6.6 billion from advertising and consumer sales.

ABS-CBN’s Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition Top 10 finalists

I love watching cooking shows! The TV is always on the Lifestyle Network, they changed formats however and some cooking shows were removed. I look forward to watching Iron Chef America every Saturdays.

Now, ABS-CBN brought Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition. The show is hosted by Judy Ann Santos which I think is perfect for the show as she loves cooking too. This is one of my fave reality show on TV.

Marami na naman napahanga ng ABS-CBN sa kanilang bagong reality show na 'Junior Master Chef Pinoy Edition' dahil gaya ng 'Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition', isang matino at world class na dating ang napanood ng mga Pinoy. Pero after mapili ang Top 20 ng nasabing reality show ay mapapanood na daw ito ng gabi-gabi. Kailangan pa natin mag-antay ng isang buwan o medyo higit pa.
