Judy Ann Santos asks understanding for Sharon Cuneta’s reaction to allegations against her husband

092713-Judy_Main.jpgKapamilya soap opera queen Judy Ann Santos has once again rallied to the side of her “Ate,”Megastar Sharon Cuneta who recently drew flak anew after defending her husband, former senator Kiko Pangilinan, from being dragged into the controversial P10-billion Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam through a series of tweets that she has since deleted.

During his privilege speech on Wednesday, Senator Jinggoy Estrada, one of the legislators currently facing plunder charges due to his purported involvement in the massive scam, lamented how the Commission on Audit has been seemingly biased in highlighting irregularities in the fund disbursement of government officials, among them allegedly were those of the Megastar’s husband.

While the speech was ongoing, the actress took to her Twitter account her surprise and at the same time fury as she defended her husband from the nasty accusation.

“If anyone reading this can prove to me that my husband has stolen any amount from his PDAF in his 12 years as senator, I will give you P10 million in cash and I will leave my husband.

“That is how confident I am. Sorry, HINDI KAMI MAGNANAKAW,” posted the Megastar on Wednesday.

As one of the closest friends of the seasoned actress, Juday, during the press conference of her upcoming game show Bet On Your Baby on Thursday, has underscored that if she were put in the same situation as her Ate Sharon, she would probably be feeling the exact same thing.

“Ako I understand what Ate Sharon is going through kasi asawa siya di ba?

Juday continued and said she sees nothing wrong that the outspoken Megastar made her disappointment publicly known, saying that, “Intindihin natin na sa bawat partner ng mgapoliticians, especially yung mga may paraan para ilabas ang saloobin nila…

Juday added that we live in a democratic country where virtually everyone has a right to air their grievances about certain matters, it’s just that, “Nama-magnify lang kasi artista pero I guess halimbawa ordinaryong tao ang gagawa nu’n hindi papansinin, baka suportahan pa.

PDAF scam
Juday, who was just cleared from her P3.4-million tax evasion case early this year, also expressed dismay over the existence of a pork barrel scam, wherein the funds that are supposedly for public consumption were allegedly pocketed by conniving legislators, agencies, and private individuals.

What saddens her the most, Juday said, was the fact that that she was among the millions of Filipino taxpayers who made an effort to perform her duty in paying her taxes accordingly.

With the recent calamities and the ongoing siege in Zamboanga, for Juday, the P10-billion pesos involved in the scam could have been put to a far better use. “Though wala naman tayong [buong idea] dahil hindi pa klaro kung ano ba talaga ang nangyayari but well awarenaman tayo na nanakawan tayo ng malaking halaga at hindi ito basta basta pera. Yung 10 billionang daming pera [nu’n at ang dami] ng pwedeng magawa dun ah,” blurted the award-winning actress.

Many celebs have weighed in on this issue which has been linked to the showbiz industry due to the simple fact that two of the three senators charged with plunder last Monday are celebrities, namely: Sen. Jinggoy and Sen. Bong Revilla Jr.

Asked what her reaction was that celebrities are involved in this controversy, Juday, pleaded with the public, as well as the presiding officials of the investigations, to just “disregard” the fact that they are celebrities but rather to just rechannel their energies and efforts in resolving the case as quick as possible. Ang sa akin lang, let’s get to the bottom of this. Let’s finish this already and hanapan na ng solusyon. Stop pinpointing and solusyunan na kasi the more na pinapatagal the more na tayong ninanakawan,” she ended.

Thus said Judy Ann Santos in support to Sharon Cuneta’s tweets Wednesday night, Sept. 25, defending her husband, former senator Francis "Kiko" Pangilinan.

Sharon defended the former senator against Sen. Jinggoy Estrada's speech on the pork barrel scam.

Judy Ann and her husband Ryan is a close friend of Sharon and Kiko.

“Kasi asawa siya, di ba?” she asked-back to the reporters.

She doesn’t see anything wrong as well if Sharon put out her reaction through a social media site.

She thinks that such action was a big deal because “artista siya. Pero I guess kung normal na tao, kung halimbawa ordinaryong tao lang ang gagawa no’n, baka hindi pansinin, baka suportahan pa.”

Contract with ABS-CBN

Meanwhile, Judy Ann will be busy on her next project with ABS-CBN, a game show for toddlers titled "Bet on Your Baby."

She signed in for the new project after her short-lived primetime show "Wag Ka Lang Mawawala."

The Kapamilya star had issues with the network after supposed plans of moving the primetime show to a new time slot, which spawned speculations that Judy Ann may move to another network.

Juday clarified that she did not plan to leave the network, saying that her new game show's airing had been set even before the drama series was taken off the air.

“Uhm, It’s not that I’m saying no, hindi rin naman ako nagpapakipot. Ayaw ko lang pumasok muna do’n sa isang talk with ABS na hindi pa talaga ako totally okay.

“Kumbaga wala naman na akong issue at that time, e, kumbaga gusto ko na lang kung itutuloy ko ‘to wala na akong hang ups sa ABS. Ayaw ko kasi magsimula na naman ng relationship with them na mayro’n pa pala akong sama ng loob.”

Though she admits there were offers from other networks to have a meeting with her, yet it didn’t push through because she already signed with the Kapamilya network.

She didn’t also want the people to think that “nagpapa-yummy ako.

"Bet on Your Baby" will start this October every Saturday night on ABS-CBN.

Bet on Your Baby Hosted by Judy Ann Santos Premieres this October on ABS-CBN

In a family treat with a message that is very much close to her heart, acclaimed television personality and hands-on mother Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo stands proud to share both education and enjoyment as host of the Philippines’ newest game show “Bet On Your Baby”.

Bet on Your Baby Hosted by Judy Ann Santos Premieres this October on ABS-CBN

Seeing it fit for how she is and who she is, Judy Ann has been especially excited venturing into this new project, which is designed for families with children aged two to three and a half years old. Through a series of games, it aims to prove the importance of having a strong bond between parents and their kids.

“When the show was presented to me, and when I got the whole feel of ‘Bet On Your Baby’, I was so entertained by seeing how they kids were really just playing,” said Judy Ann, who found a great sense of enjoyment from her first taping sessions. Aside from that, the show’s games are designed in ways that allow for the children to learn while playing, making her even more eager to take on being the show’s host.

Being an advocate of creating strong connections with her children, she finds a certain thrill in discovering what they’re capable of on a daily basis, which she also sees in what her guests bring to the floor. According to Judy Ann, “There’s a point of conversation with you and the parents that join the show. We can relate to each other.”

Judy Ann also immediately took a liking to the kids that she has met through the show so far. “It’s easy to love the program because you’re dealing with babies, and you can’t go wrong with that,” she said.

This connection that she formed with the families that she has met on the show so far is one that she hopes will branch out to inspire other Filipino families, especially with the show presenting techniques that parents and children can take into their own homes.

“I’m just hopeful that we can inspire people to enjoy having their kids around. ‘Bet On Your Baby’ is here to help parents enjoy their kids more. Besides, being a parent, I learned that when it comes to your children, you don’t want to miss any moment. It’s important to be beside them in whatever they go through. I think when you come to that point, it’s true that you become selfless. It’s true that you smile without reason. All of a sudden, there’s so much more value in your being alive.”

Judy Ann Santos says Bet On Your Baby clinched the deal for her to accept ABS-CBN offer

Judy Ann Santos was initially hesitant to accept the job of hosting Bet On Your Baby, which is the local version of an American game show.

What convinced the actress to accept this hosting job?

"At first hindi pa [ako convinced]," admitted Juday (Judy Ann's nickname) during her September 26 press conference held at the 9501 restaurant at the ABS-CBN compound.

Bet On Your Baby is designed for families with children aged two to three and a half years old. Through a series of games, it aims to prove the importance of having a strong bond between parents and their kids.

Juday, who is dubbed as the Queen of Pinoy Soap Opera, also admitted that she had to make some adjustments when she shifted to being a game show host.

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked Juday to cite the difficulties that she encountered while hosting Bet On Your Baby.

She pointed out: "Madami! Unang-una ang kaba ng puso ko...Pangalawa, yung takot na baka mali ang mechanics na masabi mo because you're thinking of four games in one taping. Every taping, you change those three games so nag -iba-iba ng mechanics.

Saka minsan, I would just refer to them as mommy and daddy kasi baka mali ang masabi kong pangalan. E, we're taped as live.

Mahirap siyang balansehin, ha," she quipped.

I would like to believe that I can do it."

Is she ready for critics who would compare her to other game show hosts?

"Saka, comparisons give you more room for improvement.

WELCOME BREATHER. As part of Juday's two-year contract with the Kapamilya Network, she is slated to do a drama series.

For this reason, she considers Bet On Your Baby as a welcome breather.

Did this game show clinch the deal for her to accept the offer of ABS-CBN?

"I would say yes kasi breather siya.

For now, Juday wants to concentrate in this new endeavor.

Hindi siya game show, reality show siya," she said about her previous competitive cooking reality show.

How different is the Philippine version from the ABC show that aired on American television?

"Tayo kasi mas ano tayo, di ba, mas gusto natin yung naririnig natin yung kwento.

"And at the same time, mas maraming educational tips na makukuha sa Bet On Your Baby compared to other franchises ng Bet sa ibang bansa."

What are the prizes at stake in this game show?

"Lahat [ng contestants], may mauuwing cash prize kasi bawat game, they can go home with either P5,000 or P10,000. Sa jackpot round, walang matatalo kasi P50,000 ang cash prize to as high as P1 million."

Would she allow her son Lucho to join this game show?

"Opo, kasi parang exciting siya. For the longest time, ngayon lang nagkaroon ng game show for babies at naglalaro lang sila.

The TV host-actress also expressed her gratitude for her husband, Ryan Agoncillo, for being her mentor in hosting.

Ryan has won awards for hosting from various award-giving bodies and he is already in the Hall of Fame of the Aliw Awards for Best Male Emcee.

"Yung preparation is to really see kung paano ba talaga makipag-usap sa parents.

"Ang dami kong pointers talaga, up to the day talaga na magte-taping ako, magkausap pa kami sa telepono dahil talagang kinakabahan ako.

Bet On Your Baby, hosted by Judy Ann Santos, is set to hit Philippine television this October.

Judy Ann Santos is bent on improving her hosting skill

Judy Ann Santos is first to admit that hosting is not her cup of tea. But she does her best to improve on it, with the help of her husband, the talented TV host Ryan Agoncillo.

The actress shares that Ryan gives her pointers, urging her "to be comfortable" on the job, a tall order for Judy Ann.

“Kahit na sabihin niya sa akin na ‘You have to be comfortable,’ I can’t be comfortable! Kasi it’s all about talking and I’m not talkative! So, that’s one point na kailangan kong pagtuunan ng pansin,” she tells the interviewer.
PHOTO: NIMFA CHUA
Judy Ann's first stab at hosting was in the reality cook-offJunior MasterChef Pinoy Edition, which aired from August 2011 to February 2012, and MasterChef Pinoy Edition, which aired from November 2012 to February 2013.
Her ample knowledge and skill in cooking made her a reliable and interesting presenter of the international reality show franchise. Having earned a degree in culinary arts a few years back, Judy Ann was a perfect fit.
A hardworker, Judy Ann delivered, and the shows had successful first-season runs.
But as far as the actress was concerned, the shows only made her realize that hosting was her Achilles heel.
At a press launch last Monday, September 24, when she also announced the new product she would be endorsing. the young superstar charmed a roomful of entertainment writers with her candidness.
For all her gargantuan talent in acting, Judy Ann says her hosting skill isn’t something one can bet on.
“I can’t lie naman about it. Kasi in acting, I’ve been acting for more than two decades already!"
With another hosting stint on its way, the American TV game show Bet On Your Baby, this mother of two is more than ever bent on improving her hosting skill.
“In hosting… bagong panganak pa lang ako sa pagho-host!”
WATERLOO. However brilliant a television and movie actress she has turned out to be, Judy Ann says she hasn’t really the gift of yap.
She grapples with words, she admits, and is not one heck of a conversationalist.
“For some reason, people would tell na medyo suplada ako tignan, mahirap ako i-approach.
Hindi lang masyado nahahalata!,” she jokes, totally disarming her audience in fits of laughter.
It is no joke, however, that during taping, Judy Ann would feel sick to the stomach.
“Maybe because I’m not that yet comfortable with my playground now.”
Being professional, she commits herself to a successful delivery of the new show.
“I’m pretty sure na pag patapos naman na siya, kumportable na ako,” she assured.
HUSBAND AS MENTOR. In all appearances, Judy Ann and husband, TV host Ryan Agoncillo, are soul mates. The actress says Ryan is her personal coach when it comes to hosting.
During tapings, Judy Ann gets pointers from Ryan via texting.
“I would text him every minute, every hour tine-text ko siya kung ano yung nararamdaman ko. He would call me up.
“It helps a lot that Ryan’s a better host. Not a better a host, [but] an excellent host at that,” she beams.
For the most part, Ryan’s nuggets of advice work. Still, Judy Ann says on some days, she finds herself struggling.
In her heart, Judy Ann knows that she’s trying and it doesn’t matter if it’s a hit and miss for now.
“I’m really happy with my work now.”

Judy Ann excited for 'Bet On Your Baby' premiere

Young superstar Judy Ann Santos is excited to host her newest show on ABS-CBN, the local edition of "Bet On Your Baby."
Santos said "Bet On Your Baby" is a breath of fresh air from her previous project, the primetime drama series "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala."
So maiba naman," she said.
The Kapamilya star also shared that she and her husband, television host Ryan Agoncillo, are planning to have another baby.
"Balak ko mamaya pag-uwi," she said in jest. "May plano, may plano. Napag-uusapan namin [kasi] masaya 'yung madami.
"Bet On Your Baby" will premiere on Saturday, replacing the game show "Deal or No Deal" hosted by Luis Manzano.

MANILA -- The newest ABS-CBN game show hosted by young superstar Judy Ann Santos, as in its international format, will feature toddlers and their parents in a series of tests, but the Filipino audience can also expect something extra.
"Bet On Your Baby," which first aired on American TV via ABC in April this year, will have a Philippine adaptation set to air on ABS-CBN in October.
Santos, during a press conference held Thursday for the new Kapamilya offering, shared a number of differences between the local version and its counterparts in the United States, Turkey and China.
In the original format of "Bet On Your Baby," two- to three-year-old children are accompanied by their parents in a series of challenges. How well the parents can guess their respective babies' next move in these tests will determine the winner of the show.
Apart from the games segment -- which takes place in a room called the "Babydome" -- Santos said local viewers will also get to know contestants in a given episode.
"Tayo kasi mas ano tayo eh, 'diba, mas gusto natin 'yung naririnig natin 'yung kwento.
"And at the same time, mas maraming educational tips na makukuha sa 'Bet On Your Baby' compared to other franchises ng 'Bet' sa ibang bansa," said Santos.

Focusing on 'Bet'

Santos, who is more known for her dramatic roles, acknowledged the shift from being "Queen of Pinoy Soap Opera" to hosting her own game show. She cited this "big change" in explaining why she has opted to focus entirely on "Bet On Your Baby" in the meantime.
The 35-year-old actress recently signed a two-year contract with ABS-CBN, which includes, among others, a new drama series.
"Gusto ko muna siyang i-concentrate, gusto ko muna siyang ma-master. Hangga't maaari, gusto ko munang mag-focus sa pagiging host dito sa 'Bet On Your Baby,'" she said.
She was referring to the Philippine edition of the reality cooking show, which had a "Junior" and the original adults edition airing in 2011 and 2012 on ABS-CBN.
Referring to "Bet On Your Baby," Santos continued, "It's totally different, at 'yung energy mo up na up. Kasi 'yung energy ko, kailangan i-sustain buong araw."
"Nauubusan po talaga ako ng boses. Umuuwi ako, wala na talaga akong boses. Na-e-enjoy ko naman siya. Naghihintay nalang ako ng endorsement ng Pei Pa Koa," she quipped, referring to the brand of herbal remedy for soar throat.

Tips from hubby

In preparing to host her new program, Santos said she also enlisted the help of her husband, Ryan Agoncillo, who boasts a 15-year career as a TV host.
"'Yung preparation is to really see kung paano talaga makipag-usap sa parents.
Herself a mom to a two-year-old boy -- she has two children with Agoncillo -- Santos said she is not discounting the possibility of placing a "bet" on her own baby.
Asked if she would be willing to have Lucho, her son, join as a contestant, Santos said, "Dinala ko siya no'ng isang rehearsal day namin.

BET ON YOUR BABY Soon on ABS CBN!

Judy Ann Santos will host ABS-CBN's version of American game show Bet On Your Baby

[x]
After starring in Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala, Judy Ann Santos reveals: "Hanggang ngayon kinukulit pa rin kami [ng fans] for a book two or for a movie." This time, she will host a game show for the first time through Bet On Your Baby, ABS-CBN's version of the American game show.

Noong September 11, tinapos ni Judy Ann Santos ang speculations tungkol sa kanyang paglipat nang pumirma siya ng two-year contract with ABS-CBN.

(Read: Judy Ann Santos remains a Kapamilya; signs two-year contract)

Very educational at ang maganda kasi dun yung mga contestants na baby may trust funds silang makukuha at the end of the day. Kumbaga walang talo.

“Yes first time [ko] for a game show kaya ako kinakabahan kasi baka mauna pa akong tumili sa mga contestants,” pag-amin ni Juday.

“Exciting, kinakabahan, nate-tense kasi di ko alam kung paano ko ba ito itawid, how will I do it, ibang-iba kasi ito sa Masterchef, e. Yung Masterchef kasi it’s all about food, ito it’s all about babies and how you deal with them.

Parang it’s an instant connection with kids talaga.”

JUDAY MISSES HAVING A BABY.

Napag-uusapan, if it will happen, it will happen. Ayaw naming planuhin kasi pagpinaplano mas lalong di binibigay.

“Nung di namin pinansin saka kami nagka-baby so ngayon talagang ine-enjoy namin yung time with the kids especially now with Yohan and Lucho, sobrang best friend ang mga bagets namin.

HONING THEIR KIDS' TALENTS.

“Yes, silang dalawang magkapatid.

“Excited in a way na looking forward kung anong klaseng story ang puwede nilang ibigay sa akin because Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala is over the top. Wala akong maisip na konsepto pa sa ngayon na puwedeng humigit sa Huwag ka Lang Mawawala because it’s so perfect. From the cast, the story, the director, to everything. To the supporters na hanggang ngayon kinukulit pa rin kami for a book two or for a movie, it’s overwhelming.

Mahirap pa magsalita sa ngayon, we’ll see.”

Champion Detergent, currently one of the leading detergent brands in the country, has reached another milestone in its commitment to offer meaningful quality products to Filipino consumers with the release of itsCHAMPION FABRI-CON – Liquid Fabric Conditioner with Freshness Capsules. And very much timely as Peerless Products Manufacturing Corporation, the company behind the Champion brand, is celebrating its 50thAnniversary since its founding in 1963. This new product continues the company’s 50-year tradition of excellence in all its products.
And who better to help launch this latest fabric conditioner product than the Philippines’ primetime television and film queen Ms. Judy Ann Santos. “It was a natural decision for me to join the Champion family. The same reason, my husband (Ryan Agoncillo) agreed to do it, it really is the virtue of the brand’s integrity that made me say yes to it,” says the newest face of Champion Fabri-Con. “When we talk about Champion, it’s all about high quality. It’s about top-of-the-line ingredients, which is also true for this new product with its quality fragrance oils that release a fresh and airy fragrance throughout the day. And that’s what I love about it.”
It was a light afternoon, during an intimate luncheon with friends from print, online and television media at the Paranaque Function Rooms of Shangri-La Hotel in Makati City, when the endorser gamely showed off her newfound love to the newest addition to the roster of premier quality products of Champion.
Champion Fabri-Con provides an elegant, well-balanced and sophisticated profile of fragrance—one that comes from all-quality ingredients and that reminds us of the comfort of home. “I use it everywhere, and I always get wonderful end-results. Aside from softening, it also leaves this powdery fresh scent in all my fabrics – whether it’s home linens like blankets and curtains, or the clothes of my loved ones.” That’s the power of Champion Fabri-Con. It makes you feel right at home,” she ends with a smile.

In the tradition of taking on the best and most exciting shows to Philippine television, acclaimed actress Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo is set to bring her unparalleled charisma to the stage as the host of ABS-CBN’s newest game show, “Bet On Your Baby”.

“Bet On Your Baby”, an international game show for families, aims to put to the test how well parents know their children. Designed for kids aged two to three and a half years old, the game show began airing this same year in the United States and Turkey and immediately gained a huge following as one of television’s most well-loved programs.

Aside from being set to air in the Philippines, the game show is also on its way to touch the shores of China—where the said country is also in the process of developing their own versions of “Bet On Your Baby”.

Following two successful seasons as host of “MasterChef Pinoy Edition” and "Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition," for which she received an Anak TV award, “Bet On Your Baby” host Judy Ann is once again more than ready to take on another grand hosting stint, venturing into the realm of game shows for the first time.

Being a program designed for families that proves the importance of the bond between parents and their children, “Bet On Your Baby” aims to deliver a message that is close to the heart of Judy Ann, who knows the real rewards in being a hands-on mom.

The game show involves three rounds for three families—the initial round, the puzzle round, and the jackpot round. In the first two rounds, one parent from each family will be the decision-maker, guessing whether or not his or her child will be able to accomplish a given task along with the other parent inside a separate room called the “Baby Dome”. Families that successfully accomplish the challenge in the first round are automatically awarded with P10,000.

The second round, a test of speed and wit, allows the winning family to proceed to the third and final round, where they will be given the chance to win up to P1 million.

The new and exciting game show “Bet On Your Baby”, hosted by Judy Ann Santos, will hit Philippine television soon. For updates on the program, visit and like “BetOn Your Baby” on Facebook and follow@betonyourbabyph on Twitter or betonyourbabyphilippines on Instagram

http://www.philstar.com/pang-movies/2013/09/25/1237914/juday-galit-sa-mga-pulitikong-dawit-sa-pork-barrel-scam

So, it makes me think, ‘What happened dun sa ibinayad ko?

We try to be responsible Filipino citizens.

“So, as politicians, please be responsible naman with your job dahil hindi madaling magtrabaho lalo pa’t may pamilya kang binubuhay.

“But the case naman is not with the BIR. It’s with the government. BIR’s just doing their job — collecting taxes. They all just give it to the government.
