After starring in the top-rating teleserye Mara Clara and the upcoming movie entitled Way Back Home, Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes are now being dubbed as the next big dramatic stars of this generation. As early as now, the two are predicted to likely follow in the footsteps of Judy Ann Santos and Claudine Barretto. Push.com.ph had the chance to ask Judy Ann for a comment during the press conference of her new show in ABS-CBN entitled Junior MasterChef: Pinoy Edition, and she said, “Napapanood ko naman sila. With little steps they will get there.”
However, Judy Ann explained that she thinks it would be best if Kathryn and Julia will be allowed to establish their own names rather than to always be compared to either her or Claudine.
The original Mara added that constant comparison will only put pressure on Kathryn and Julia which will not be helpful in their growth as actresses. May sarili silang diskarte, style sa pag-arte. May iba pa silang pwedeng i-offer sa mga tao. Nagsisimula pa sila. Marami pa silang gagawing pelikula. I believe they can establish their own names.”
Judy Ann shared that she would love to work with the two, for as long as she won’t play their mother on screen. Kung mangyari man ‘yun magiging masaya ako.
The 32-year-old actress is married to TV host/actor Ryan Agoncillo and they have two kids, Yohan and Lucho. Judy Ann explained that since she already has children in real life she doesn’t have any problem accepting mother roles. Kung dapat nanganak ako na six years old, e ‘di ipakitang ganun. Ha ha ha!”
For now Judy Ann said she will be a mother to the young contestants of Junior Master Chef. Aside from hosting the show, she also experienced comforting the kiddie cooks whenever the tension of the competition is on. They’re very innocent and raw. Ang sarap nilang kausap at turuan.”
As a culinary arts graduate herself, Judy Ann expressed her amazement with the skills shown by the kids in the various cooking challenges done on JMC. “Mahuhusay talaga sila. Ganun sila kagaling.”
