Sam Milby isn't giving up on his Hollywood dream

Sam Milby talked about his latest trip to New York City last May 27 2012 on The Buzz. According to the matinee idol this was a very special trip because it gave him a chance to pursue his dream of making it big in Hollywood. He spent three months in the Big Apple going on a number of auditions and casting calls and was even absorbed by The Gersh Agency, one of the top agencies in the entertainment industry today. However, the singer-actor was quick to admit that he initially had a hard time auditioning in the United States. He may be a big star here, but he had to work his way up from the bottom there. “Lalo na ‘yung first time to audition kasi dito sa Pilipinas kapag may pangalan ka na, hindi ka naman nag-o-audition, so ‘yung mga first auditions nanibago ako.” Jumping from one audition to another in the United States made Sam realize how easy things were for him back in Manila. “Lalo kong naa-appreciate ‘yung nangyayari sa buhay ko dito, sa career ko dito,” he revealed. The three month trip also reinvigorated his passion and love for music. “I would say that for seven years that I’ve been in showbiz ako dito, nung nasa New York ako, sobrang na-inspire ako even with music, ‘yung love ko sa music, bumalik. I feel different. ‘Yung desire, ‘yung passion ko na gumaling sa craft, sa music, sa lahat, talagang gustong-gusto ko. This is what I wanna do. Ito talaga ang gusto kong gawin.” Sam will be going back to the US every so often for even more auditions. However, now that he is momentarily back in the country, the matinee idol has decided to focus on his local showbiz career in the meantime. He is set to do a teleserye with superstar Judy Ann Santos and is very excited about that. They've already had a story conference which means the show will be airing very soon. “Iba,” was how Sam described his character in the teleserye. I Iike this character kasi medyo grey, hindi tipong Sam na romantic.”
