In the tradition of the wish-granting world of Wako Wako and the Arukans, Gladys Reyes makes a wish: "To host a talk show or maybe both of us ni Judy Ann [Santos] since we're both mothers na rin, ala Tessie ng Tahanan [defunct morning show on ABS-CBN]. Hopefully, maisip din na pagsamahin kami kasi it's something na gusto ko mai-share sa mga kapwa-mommies na katulad ko."

With just one week left before the show's finale, Wako Wako rolled out the culmination of its "Dear Wako, Ano Ang Wish Mo?" promo through a mall show at Glorietta 5.

Held on May 19, it was a family-studded affair at the mall for this Kapamilya teleserye. The highlight was the live granting of wishes sent to the show by snail mail and e-mail.

One of the main stars of Wako Wako, Gladys Reyes, was there to help grant some of the wishes.

A 23-year old mom had sent in this wish: She wants to go back to school so she could get a good job to provide for her six-month-old baby. Through STI-Caloocan and Wako Wako, she was given a 4-year full scholarship to any course.

STI-La Union also granted a 4-year scholarship to a teenager from La Union who wants to help support the family.

Meanwhile, Kawasaki gave a tricycle to a disabled father (he had lost a leg) he could use to support his family.

GOOD MOM ROLE.  PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) was able to interview Gladys Reyes at the event, who revealed that she would miss her role in the fantasy-series, Wako Wako.

"It's something different, I'm not a kontrabida. I'm a loving, doting mother," she said.

She plays Nanay Isay, mother to child star Yogo Singh's character, Muymuy.

Gladys said she feels fulfilled and happy in the role because, "it's like I'm playing myself... a mother, I have a six-year-old kid in Wako Wako, I have a kid around same age, Christopher...

"Parang di ako umaarte kasi it comes natural."

Gladys brought her three kids to the event: sons Gian-Christopher and Grant-Carlin, and daughter Aquisha.

WISH. Now that the show is ending, Gladys is both sad and hopeful.

She told PEP: "I'm praying, I hope na eventually another opportunity will come wherein I will again play a loving mother to my kids."

She added, "Kasi [kung] kontrabida, they will hate me."

What's the best thing about Wako Wako?

"Ang nakikita lang nila is me as their mommy. I'm so thankful to ABS-CBN for giving me this opportunity," she said.

In the tradition of the wish-granting world of Wako Wako and the Arukans, Gladys expressed this wish: "To host a talk show or maybe both of us ni Judy Ann [Santos] since we're both mothers na rin, ala Tessie ng Tahanan [defunct morning show on ABS-CBN].

"Hopefully, maisip din na pagsamahin kami kasi it's something na gusto ko mai-share sa mga kapwa-mommies na katulad ko.

"I already have a mommy show on Net 25 pero gusto ko eto yung naiiba, may touch ng MOMents pero hindi lang basta pang mommy, even daddies, kids, the whole family can relate [to]."

Wako Wako airs on ABS-CBN in its Primetime Bida block Monday-Friday after PBB Teen Edition 4: 2012 and ends this May 25.
