After months of speculation, celebrity couple Ryan Agoncillo and Judy Ann Santos have finally revealed the name they picked for their new pride and joy: Juan Luis.
"Napagkasunduan namin [name] is Juan Luis and the nickname will be Lucho," Agoncillo said at a recent press engagement.
Juan is Spanish for the Hebrew, Yohanan, which means, "Yahweh is gracious."
This confirmed the hints given by Agoncillo to Bulletin Entertainment in an interview April this year, that the name they’re thinking of has something to do with that of their adopted daughter, Yohan.
“Yohan” is derived from the German name “Johann” meaning “God is merciful.”
Luis, the second name of the baby boy, is also Spanish in origin, meaning "Famous Warrior."
According to Agoncillo, Santos is due in the next 4 to 8 weeks.
"We are very excited kasi nandiyan na malapit na. Ilang simba na lang 'yan," he said.
"Last month nakita namin sa ultrasound [and the baby] ay ‘suhi’ meaning in breech position, 'yong una ang paa na lalabas. Pero tumagilid na siya and we are hoping in the next few weeks tumuloy na ang pag-ikot niya."
The couple had been busy preparing for the coming of the baby in the past few months and as such, Agoncillo said that everything is ready for the baby when it comes home.
"Iyong gamit ng bata medyo kumpleto na,” said he. “Iyong room ng bata patapos na din, iyong nursery, iyong gamit ni mommy sa pag-aalaga, mukhang kumpleto na din."
Agoncillo said their adopted daughter, Yohan, is as excited as they are to see her brother.
"Laging may hug at kiss [the tummy of her mommy] bago pumunta sa school at pag-galing sa school laging may yakap."
Agoncillo also announced that his wife will refrain from accepting acting assignments in the coming months to pursue the idea of being a full-time mom. He went on to clarify that it wasn’t his, but Santos’ decision.
"It was actually Judai's decision. I was surprised. Sabi ko nga parang masyado kang nadadalian sa pagbubuntis. Sabi niya ayaw na muna niyang mag-yaya right away kasi nagpapahanap kami ng midwife. Sabi niya gusto niya munang tignan kung hanggang saan niya mapu-push ang pangangarir sa pagiging ina," Agoncillo said.
