MANILA, Philippines -- Actress KC Concepcion doesn't mind doing a supporting role in Judy Ann Santos's upcoming television series titled "Against All Odds."
"Ako I'm not really about 'yung popularity. Ang sarap noong magiging sasamahan siguro ng cast at production at it's really a role na hindi nakaka-pressure in a way, Ibang-iba, hindi lang sa iyo umiikot ang story, so maganda. Magaan sa feeling ang gagawin ko although 'yung role itself ay hindi magaan talaga," Concepcion said in an interview on Wednesday afternoon.
Concepcion said she's just thrilled to be part of the series and to be working with Santos, whom she considers a "sister" in show business.
"I didn't think that I would do it at this time because busy kami sa 'X-Factor' pero for some reason I was just too happy to be part of it. So noong nakita ko si Ate Judai, 'di ko mapigilan ang sarili ko at ate ko talaga siya," Concepcion said.
"Apart kasi ng closeness ng mom ko (Sharon Cuneta) at ni Ate Judai, mayroon din kami ni Ate Judai na kami lang. Alam ko 'yon, nararamdaman ko 'yon na hiwalay ang friendship or relationship namin ni Ate Judai, hiwalay din 'yung sa kanila ni Mommy, hindi masyadong naghahalo," she explained.
Concepcion said she never thought she will do a project with Santos.
"I thought I would be pressured but she's really supportive. This is her teleserye and I'm just happy to be part of it at kung 'di ako ang nalagay sa role na 'yon papanoorin ko at everyday ng buhay ko iisipin ko na sana ay ako 'yon," she said.
Right now, Concepcion said she's just happy to be doing different things. Aside from her teleserye, she will also host ABS-CBN's "The X-Factor Philippines."
"Well the nice thing ay iba-iba naman. 'Yon sa X-Factor you are host and I enjoy it. I'm having fun. Iba-iba hindi naman ako gumagawa ng dalawa o tatlong teleserye na sabay. I mean this is my first soap in three or four years. Sa tagal noon ang dami nang nangyari. Again hindi ko alam na itotodo ko talaga ang showbiz life dito and now it's more than I expect," she said.
