That's why before accepting the offer to do ABS-CBN's upcoming soap "Against All Odds," she made sure her work will not interfere too much with her duties as a mother.
"Kaya nakiusap ako kila Sir Deo (Endrinal) at director Malou (Santos) na magka-cut off ako ng midnight kasi maaga kaming gumigising for Yohan's school. Nakiusap talaga ako," she said in an interview on "KrisTV" on Tuesday, where she guested with husband Ryan Agoncillo.
"Even before ako nagpakita sa ABS-CBN para makipag-meeting, sinabi ko na agad agad na kung magso-soap ako, 'pasensiya na po but I have to set my rules and regulations as well.' Kasi duling na ako pagdating ng alas diyes (ng gabi). Walang biro, duling na ako pagdating ng alas diyes," Santos explained.
In exchange for her request to finish taping early, she told the management that she can be on the set as early as 7 a.m. after bringing her daughter to school.
"Minsan kasi kami ang naghahatid kay Yohan, may lambing kasi minsan si Yohan na 'Mommy bring me to school.' So kami ni Lucho punta kami ng school," she said.
Santos will be doing her comeback soap on ABS-CBN after taking a break from teleseryes for two years when she got pregnant and gave birth to her youngest child.
Santos also said her husband is supportive of her decision to go back doing soap operas.
"With Ryan naman, palagi 'yang nakasuporta sa akin. Palagi lang 'yan, 'oh basta huwag kang magrereklamo,'" she said.
Agoncillo said he only advised his wife to finish what she agreed to do.
"Sinasabi ko lang naman sa kanya as long as you know what you are going into at saka huwag ka lang magrereklamo kasi you agreed to do it. Just do it and finish it," he said.
For her upcoming soap, Santos will be working with KC Concepcion and Sam Milby.
