Judy Ann Santos reveals reason why Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala was cut short

http://www.thechicka.com/judy-ann-santos-speaks-up/

Judy Ann Santos- HKLMTeleserye Queen Judy Ann Santos finally spoke up regarding the abrupt ending of her top rating drama series Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala (HKLM) during a press conference held on Thursday. According to the actress, it was her decision to end the show earlier than its planned airing because she wants it to remain on top of the ratings game when it airs its finale. The series is set to end on August 23.
“It was my decision to end the show earlier. Gusto kong mamaalam sa teleserye nang taas-noo,”Santos said.
She also confirmed earlier reports that the Kapamilya management’s plan to move HKLM to a later timeslot was one of the reasons why she requested to end the series rather than be transferred to the 4th time slot of the network’s primetime teleserye block and suffer ratings-wise. The management reportedly want to move Santos’ show to give way to the upcoming Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo starrer Got To Believe.
The actress also apologized to fans who supported the show since it premiered on June 17. The series, which tackles domestic abuse and women empowerment, is Santos’ comeback vehicle to acting after a self imposed hiatus to take care of her young family.
She also denied reports that her decision to end the show was influenced by the bashing of the fans of Padilla and Bernardo who are allegedly spreading rumors that HKLM will be cancelled because it is not rating well.
“Yung ‘Got To Believe,’ sa totoo lang, ayaw kong mag-react sa isyu, sa kanila, kasi it’s a totally different thing. Pero sa tunay na salita, ‘yung ‘Got To Believe’ na teleserye has nothing to do with my decision. It was me and the management and pagbigyan natin ang mga bata, this is their moment to shine. Ang sa akin lang I was gone for two years and gusto kong mamaalam sa teleserye ng taas noo,” Santos explained.
Regarding rumors that she is leaving ABS-CBN after HKLM, Santos said that she has not decided on her next career move yet. She admitted that her contract with the Kapamilya network has already expired and that she can work with other TV stations.  However, she added that she needs time to mull things over before deciding to renew or take offers from other networks.
Siguro a couple of weeks,” the actress said.
“Gusto ko munang ibigay itong peace sa akin kasi medyo nawindang din ako for the past few weeks. I think I deserve to just relax and spend some time with my kids and my husband. Siguro, kailangan ko lang mag-isip nang klaro kung ano ang susunod kong gagawing mga projects in the near future,” she added.
Santos also said that that she’s grateful to ABS-CBN and that the network will be her priority when she makes her decision. The actress has been a prized talent of ABS-CBN since starring in the hit 1992 drama series Mara Clara which catapulted her to fame.
“Offers from other networks, yes, nandiyan sila. But at the end of the day, ako pa rin naman ang magdedesisyon. You know, doors for ABS-CBN will always, always be open. I will never deny the fact na ABS-CBN is my mother network,” the actress said.
The Kapamilya network has already offered new projects for Santos in the event that she decides to renew her contract. These include another drama series and Bet On Your Baby, a newly-franchised television game show featuring kids and their families. Both shows will be under Dreamscape Entertainment, the same production behind HKLM.

Judy Ann Santos Decides To End Her Teleserye Early

http://filipinasinshowbiz.com/2013/08/15/judy-ann-santos-decides-to-end-her-teleserye-early/

In a very humbling moment, Judy Ann Santos admitted to the press that it was her decision to end her teleserye Huwag Kang Lang Mawawala earlier making its airtime close to only 10 weeks. One factor is the planned late timeslot at night.
Judy-Ann-Santos HKLM
Maluha-luhang sabi ni Judy Ann, “Originally, it should’ve been moved to fourth timeslot.
“I asked the management kungpuwedeng third na muna and earlier kami matatapos.
“I really appreciate the fact na pinagbigyan nila ako.
Dagdag pa niya, “Para sa akin, it was a very, very hard decision kasi isang taon kong ginawa.
“So, I have to take that responsibility—it was me who decided to end it.”
(source: pep.ph)
As far as her network contract is concerned, Juday said she’ll give answer to the inquiries after spending time with her family for a few weeks, adding that ABS-CBN, which she considers her home network, will be on top of her list when she makes her decision.

ABS-CBN drafting or dropping new contract for Judy Ann?

http://www.journal.com.ph/index.php/entertainment/showbiz-news/56354-abs-cbn-drafting-or-dropping-new-contract-for-judy-ann

NAWALA agad?” Some people wonder why the Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo soap, “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” has to end after just a brief stint on air.

Generally, people would perceive it ending because of low ratings, contrary to what Juday’s co-actor Sam Milby said when he was interviewed on TV Patrol, “the show is getting very high ratings”.

There’s a word that after the soap ends, Judy Ann would transfer networks but it’s not known yet on whether she’ll be ending up in GMA7 or TV5.

According to other reports, the actress is now weighing options whether to transfer or not. Santos’s contract with ABS-CBN expired last July yet hence the actress is now free to take any offer from other networks while the Kapamilya network, Judy Ann’s home network for two decades, is still drafting a new contract for her. But manager Alfie Lorenzo made a remark about this saying “baka drop hindi draft.”

Rumor has it that the actress felt bad when ABS-CBN decided to move her comeback teleserye to a later timeslot to give way to “Muling Buksan ang Puso” when her show was doing better in television ratings.

Allegedly this time around, the network wanted to move the show’s timeslot again to accommodate Daniel Padilla-Kathryn Bernardo soap “Got to Believe.”

Judy Ann was allegedly offended after some executives told her about the move and in disappointment, she reportedly remarked to just end her soap instead of transferring it to a later timeslot where there’s less viewership.

‘Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala’ premiered June 17 and will air its finale on August 23, only two months after it first aired. Known for being a star builder station through the years, it is expected ABS-CBN would give new stars more big breaks just like what they are doing to Kathryn Bernardo, Daniel Padilla, Julia Montes, among others.

Does this mean ABS-CBN has come to a point when they are no longer interested with Judy Ann Santos? Just asking…

Judy Ann Santos undecided about leaving ABS-CBN

In an interview with Judy Ann Santos about transferring to other network is not yet finalize,   the actress said she has not yet made any decision about her next move after her hit series "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" ends its run next week.

In a press conference on Thursday, Santos admitted that a rival network had made an offer.

Kasi medyo nawindang din ako for the past few weeks. I think I deserve to just relax and spend time with my kids and husband," Santos told reporters.

"But doors for ABS-CBN will always, always be open. I will never deny the fact that ABS-CBN is my mother network, my mother station," she said.

"Offers from other networks, yes, nandiyan sila but at the end of the day ako pa din ang magde-desisyon. Baka kailangan ko lang mag-isip at magpahinga. Masyado lang ako sigurong napagod sa mga bagay-bagay but 'yung pagod na 'yon was really well worth it. Siguro part ng pagod na 'yon is the fact na kailangan mong mag-mature as a person.

Asked if she feels that ABS-CBN was able to give her the due respect she deserves, Santos said: "Hindi ko idi-deny na oo naman, naibigay naman ng bonggang bongga.

Santos stressed that she's grateful to ABS-CBN.

"Then again, of course, 'yung utang na loob will always be there, possibilities of entering new life will always be there. Kung ano man ang sitwasyon ngayon it's settled already and I'm just more than happy na tanggap kaming lahat," she said.

In the press conference, Santos also turned emotional as she finally bade goodbye to her hit show, admitting that it was her decision to end the series earlier.

"Sabi nga nila all good things must come to an end. It was my decision to end the show earlier. But then again I appreciate that the management listened to what I have to say. Originally it should be move to the fourth timeslot and I asked the management kung pwedeng third na muna para earlier kaming matatapos and I really appreciate the fact na pinagbigyan nila ako.

"Para sa akin it was a very, very hard decision kasi isang taon mo itong ginawa. So I had to take that responsibility. It was me, it was my decision to end it earlier," Santos said.

Santos also addressed reports that the fans of Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla, the stars of the upcoming series "Got To Believe,"have something to do with her decision.

There have been reports of some "KatNiel" fans allegedly bashing Santos and spreading rumors that the actress' show is not rating well.

"'Yung 'Got To Believe,' sa totoo lang, ayaw kong mag-react sa isyu, sa kanila, kasi it's a totally different thing. Pero sa tunay na salita, 'yung 'Got To Believe' na teleserye has nothing to do with my decision. It was me and the management and pagbigyan natin ang mga bata, this is their moment to shine. Ang sa akin lang I was gone for two years and gusto kong mamaalam sa teleserye ng taas noo," Santos said.ABS-CBN

Judy Ann is up for grabs

http://www.journal.com.ph/index.php/entertainment/showbiz-news/55734-judy-ann-is-up-for-grabs

For sure, at the back of Juday’s mind, gusto rin niyang pagbigyan ang mga kabataang artista.

Judy Ann Santos to leave ABS-CBN after Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala

Judy Ann Santos - Huwag Ka Lang Mawawalahttp://www.thechicka.com/judy-ann-santos-ends-huwag-ka-lang-mawawala/

Alfie Lorenzo, talent manager of Teleserye Queen Judy Ann Santos, has hinted in a recent article that his ward is leaving ABS-CBN after her top-rating drama series Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala (HKLM) ends in a couple of weeks (August 23 according to some reports).
In the article published in abante-tonite.com today, the veteran entertainment writer and talent manager lashed out at KathNiel fans (supporters of the Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla) for spreading rumors that Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala is ending soon because of poor ratings.
Be Careful With My Heart, ‘noh?!” he wrote.
He also voiced out his disappointment over the unfair treatment Santos is getting from her home network. Lorenzo said the network used Santos to boost the popularity of Sam Milby and KC Concepcion and then just kicked her like a dog.
Rumor has it that the abrupt ending of the series stemmed from Santos’ disappointment over her network.  The actress allegedly got offended when she heard that management plans to move HKLM again to a much later time slot to give way to the upcoming Daniel Padilla-Kathryn Bernardo starrerGot To Believe. Santos has previously agreed to move HKLM to a later time slot to give way to Muling Buksan Ang Puso but moving it again to give way to another show is just too much. Hence, Santos allegedly decided to end her series than have it moved to a time slot with very limited viewership.
Because of what has transpired, it seems that Santos has no plans of renewing her contract with the Kapamilya network which reportedly expired in July.
In his article, Lorenzo said Santos will not be seen in ABS-CBN after Huwag Ka lang Mawawala. He added that his ward will be making projects in other networks instead.
He has previously said that he and Santos is slated to meet with TV-5 boss Manny V. Pangilinan as well as GMA executives for possible collaborations.

Judy Ann Santos’ “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” to end this month

http://www.thechicka.com/judy-ann-santos-huwag-ka-lang-mawawala/

Judy Ann Santos, Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala, ABS-CBN shows, Kapamilya starsTop rating Kapamilya drama series Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala is reportedly running until the end of August only. It premiered on June 17, 2013, marking Judy Ann Santos’ return to primetime drama after a self imposed hiatus to take care of her new family.
According to Alfie Lorenzo, Santos’ talent manager, his ward wants to end the series while its on top of the ratings charts. HKLM, which tackles domestic violence and women empowerment, is fast paced and Santos fears that stretching the plot may have adverse effect on the series ratings-wise.
The series dominated the 8:30-9:15pm timeslot when it first aired in June. Although it was moved to a later time slot to give way for ABS-CBN’s new teleserye, Muling Buksan Ang Puso, it continues to lead in the ratings game up to this day.
According to another rumor, Santos was not happy when she heard that management plans to move HKLM to a much later time slot to give way to the upcoming Daniel Padilla-Kathryn Bernardo starrer Got To Believe. Santos allegedly requested the network to just end her series than move it to a later time slot. We also heard that her contract with ABS-CBN is due to expire soon. Will she renew or move to another network?
In a recent report, the Kapamilya network has decided to place Got To Believe on the time slot following HKLM. After HKLM ends, Got To Believe will take its time slot and will be followed by Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin, the long overdue series starring Gerald Anderson, Cristine Reyes and Dawn Zulueta.
UPDATE (August 6, 2013, 8:00am)
The Kapamilya network released on Monday a Press Statement claiming that the series Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala continues to lord it over the ratings game. Based on the August 2 data from Kantar Media, the Judy Ann Santos starrer scored a 14-point lead versus its rival show My Husband’s Lover on GMA. The full press release reads as follows:
Pinoy Soap Opera Queen Judy Ann Santos continues to keep primetime viewers on the edge of their seats as her character Anessa claims vengeance and risks her all to recover her kidnapped son in ABS-CBN’s consistent top-rating and fast-paced primetime drama series Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala. From being a battered wife of Eros (Sam Milby), Anessa empowered herself and rose to defend herself from the people who maltreated her and to fight for her right as the mother of Emman (Miguel Vergara) who was kidnapped by Eros and Alexis (KC Concepcion).
How far will Anessa’s retribution take her? How will she turn Eros and Alexis’ wedding ‘more special?
Meanwhile, because of its compelling narrative and top caliber performance of its powerhouse cast, Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala remains unbeatable in its time slot since it premiered on June 17.
In fact, Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala managed to beat two primetime teleseryes of GMA namely, Mundo Mo’y Akin and My Husband’s Lover. On July 5 (Friday), the Kapamilya drama series hit its all-time high national TV ratings of 31.4% based on data from Kantar Media covering urban and rural homes nationwide. It rated nine points higher than its then rival show, Mundo Mo’y Akin which only scored 22%.
Like Anessa, Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala, which is set to end soon, stayed undefeatable despite new competition. Based on the latest data from Kantar Media last Friday (August 2), Judy Ann’s drama series scores a 14-point lead versus My Husband’s Lover.
Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala airs weeknights after Muling Buksan Ang Puso on ABS-CBN Primetime Bida.

While the press release didn’t mention the date of the series’ finale, a reliable source says Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala is set to air its last episode on August 23, 1013.

Judy Ann Santos leaving ABS-CBN?

Judy Ann Santos
MANILA, Philippines - Will Judy Ann Santos no longer be a Kapamilya after her show ends?
In his column on the tabloid Abante-Tonite published Thursday, Judy Ann’s manager Alfie Lorenzo said he ismulling over the possibility of the actress doing projects with rival networks GMA 7 and TV5.
This comes days after it was rumored that Judy Ann’s ongoing show “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” will be cancelled in three weeks.
MMK is ABS-CBN’s drama anthology program “Maalaala Mo Kaya,” while “Magpakailanman” is GMA 7’s weekly drama show.
Star Cinema is ABS-CBN’s film production arm.

‘Unbelievable serye’
Lorenzo used his column to express his dismay towards the fans of Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernado. He said their fans were bashing Judy Ann and her show, claiming “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” will be cancelled due to poor ratings.
The Kapamilya love team’s show “Got to Believe” was slated to premiere last July but was shelved. According to Lorenzo, Daniel and Kathryn’s fans are claiming “Got to Believe” will replace the slot Judy Ann’s show will vacate since the latter underperformed.
Be Careful With My Heart, ‘noh?!”
An entertainment website reported that Lorenzo will talk to TV5’s Manny Pangilinan next week.
“Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” premiered June 17 this year. The show was Judy Ann’s first soap opera in three years.
If reports are true that the show will be cancelled in three weeks, “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” will end in 11 weeks, a relatively short run of a primetime soap opera.
To stay or not to stay…
These reports coincide with Judy Ann’s cryptic messages on micro-blogging site Twitter.

Judy Ann isn’t the only big star rumored to be making the big move this year. Marian Rivera is also rumored to be mulling a transfer from GMA 7 to ABS-CBN after her contract with the Kapuso network ends this month.
Just this Tuesday, Ogie Alcasid signed a three-year contract with TV5 after he left GMA 7.

Will Judy Ann move to TV5?

http://ph.omg.yahoo.com/news/will-judy-ann-santos-move-to-tv5--115331288.html

After Ogie Alcasid, is Judy Ann Santos the next big star to transfer to TV5?

The actress’ long-time manager Alfie Lorenzo told Yahoo! Philippines OMG! that after Judy Ann’s contract with ABS-CBN expired in July (2013), the Kapamilya network has not yet finished the draft of her new contract.

“So tinanong ko kung draft nga ba yon or drop,” Alfie explained.

He also lamented how the timeslot of Judy Ann’s teleserye “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” has been moved to accommodate Julia Montes' "Muling Buksan Ang Puso."

Now, “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” is again poised to change its timeslot to give way to Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo’s “Got to Believe.” Reports also say “Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala” will soon go off the air.

He revealed  that GMA 7 and TV5  have tempting offers for Judy Ann – like an episode in “Magpakailanman” and a project for TV5’s movie arm.

Alfie said he is slated to meet with TV5 big boss Manny V. Pangilinan  next week.

“Hindi ko na hihintayin ang draft (of the ABS contract),”  he added.

Judy Ann has been posting cryptic messages on Twitter recently. Is this her way of expressing her dismay? You be the judge.

Yahoo! Philippines OMG! is still waiting for ABS-CBN's official statement on the issue.

MANILA, Philippines - The mother of teen actress Kathryn Bernardo wants the "Princess and I" star to follow in the footsteps of young superstar Judy Ann Santos.
Sana ay ganoon," Mommy Min said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.
Bernardo rose to fame after portraying the role of Mara in the remake of the ABS-CBN drama "Mara Clara." The said role was originally played by Santos.
Min said that just like Santos, her daughter should always give her best in every project.
Bernardo starred in the top-rating primetime soap "Princess and I," which ended last month.

On Daniel
In a previous interview, Min said she has no problems with her daughter's "relationship" with teen actor Daniel Padilla, one of her leading men in "Princess and I."
Padilla and Bernardo recently admitted that they are already in the "MU" or "mutual understanding" stage.
Like Min, Bernardo's father Teddy also appreciates his daughter's friendship with Padilla.
But he asked the actor to not go beyond that -- at least for now.
"Dapat. Naaappreciate ko ang friendship at closeness nila, pero hanggang doon na lang muna," he said.
Last Wednesday, Star Cinema's "Must Be...Love" starring Padilla and Bernardo hit theaters nationwide.
After their movie, the two stars are set to do another TV series.

Judy Ann Santos hopes Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes won’t be compared to other big stars

081311-juday-main.jpgAfter starring in the top-rating teleserye Mara Clara and the upcoming movie entitled Way Back Home, Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes are now being dubbed as the next big dramatic stars of this generation. As early as now, the two are predicted to likely follow in the footsteps of Judy Ann Santos and Claudine Barretto. Push.com.ph had the chance to ask Judy Ann for a comment during the press conference of her new show in ABS-CBN entitled Junior MasterChef: Pinoy Edition, and she said, “Napapanood ko naman sila. With little steps they will get there.”

However, Judy Ann explained that she thinks it would be best if Kathryn and Julia will be allowed to establish their own names rather than to always be compared to either her or Claudine.

The original Mara added that constant comparison will only put pressure on Kathryn and Julia which will not be helpful in their growth as actresses. May sarili silang diskarte, style sa pag-arte. May iba pa silang pwedeng i-offer sa mga tao. Nagsisimula pa sila. Marami pa silang gagawing pelikula. I believe they can establish their own names.”

Judy Ann shared that she would love to work with the two, for as long as she won’t play their mother on screen. Kung mangyari man ‘yun magiging masaya ako.

The 32-year-old actress is married to TV host/actor Ryan Agoncillo and they have two kids, Yohan and Lucho. Judy Ann explained that since she already has children in real life she doesn’t have any problem accepting mother roles. Kung dapat nanganak ako na six years old, e ‘di ipakitang ganun. Ha ha ha!”

For now Judy Ann said she will be a mother to the young contestants of Junior Master Chef. Aside from hosting the show, she also experienced comforting the kiddie cooks whenever the tension of the competition is on. They’re very innocent and raw. Ang sarap nilang kausap at turuan.”

Judy Ann Santos reacts to Kathryn Bernardo starring in the remake of the teleserye 'Esperanza'

071211-juday_main.jpgJudy Ann Santos is taking a break from acting to do a reality show as she hosts Junior MasterChef: Pinoy Edition. After over twenty years as an actress, Judy Ann told Push.com.ph that she is very much excited over her first time to do a reality show.

She had previously admitted that at first, she was very nervous about having to take on the hosting duties. But as the taping for JMC progressed, she learned that for as long as she remains sincere to her feelings, the words would easily follow. “Mahirap, minsan nakakautal.

In JMC, kids ages eight to twelve will compete in a series of cooking activities to see who has the making of a future top chef. Judy Ann, together with other renowned Pinoy chefs, will taste and critique whatever the kiddie cooks will serve. The Young Superstar confessed that giving critiques on the childrens’ work had been the most challenging task so far. They are still kids kaya lahat ng marinig nila, dadamdamin nila. But at the same time we have to be honest din, kung masarap ba talaga ‘yung ginawa nila, kung alin ang dapat i-improve. We have to be gentle sa bitaw ng comments. So kailangan ko pang mag-research, ha ha ha!”

Being surrounded by the JMC kids, Judy would often feel nostalgic regarding her early days in showbiz as a child star. Her top-rating ‘90s teleserye Mara Clara was recently revived by ABS-CBN and made stars out of young actresses Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes. Now there are talks that Kathryn is also being eyed by the Kapamilya network to star in the remake of another Judy Ann teleserye, Esperanza.

According to Judy Ann, she is very happy to see someone like Kathryn taking on her past projects. But the original Mara wished that the upcoming star would also be given projects that will allow her to establish her own name. “I think Kathryn Bernardo is doing very good.

Despite this, Judy Ann still expressed her full trust in ABS-CBN, the same network that launched her to stardom, to know what’s best for Kathryn’s career.

JUDY ANN SANTOS TO DO A BIG TELESERYE NEXT YEAR ON ABS-CBN!

Judy Ann Santos, host of the upcoming “Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition,” said she will be back to doing soap operas by the middle of next year.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News, Santos said making a teleserye is a heavy workload and, for now, she wants to focus on her new reality TV show.

Santos, an exclusive Kapamilya talent, has starred in various popular TV series on ABS-CBN including “Mara Clara,” “Esperanza,” “Krystala,” “Ysabella” and “George and Cecil.”

As for the big screen, Santos’ movie project this year has made it to the Metro Manila Film Festival. She will star alongside husband Ryan Agoncillo and comedienne Eugene Domingo.

She will also do a movie with Coco Martin next year.

Meanwhile, Santos praised Kathryn Bernardo for her acting skill. Bernardo played “Mara,” a role originally played by Santos, in the remake of the teleserye “Mara Clara.”

Bernardo will again portray a character played by Santos. The young actress is the lead star of the remake of “Esperanza.”

Santos hopes though that Bernardo will be given a project with an original script and not patterned after her.
