Judy Ann Santos to sign new contract with ABS-CBN today

Soap Opera Queen Judy Ann Santos is reportedly set to renew her contract with ABS-CBN today, September 11, quashing rumors that she is transferring to another network. Bet On Your Baby, a franchise of a family game show from the US, will be Santos’ first project under her new contract. The show will be produced by ABS-CBN’s Dreamscape Entertaiment, the same production behind Santos’ recent top rating series, Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala (HKLM).
Top Kapamilya executives are expected to attend today’s contract signing along with Santos’ manager, Alfie Lorenzo. A photo shoot for the new show is also scheduled after the contract signing.
Rumors about Santos’ impending transfer to another network started circulating after news of HKLM’s abrupt cancellation broke out. Santos later revealed that she felt bad when the management decided to move her show to a later time slot to give way to the Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo’s new show, Got To Believe. She also admitted that it was her decision to cut the series short despite its stellar performance in the ratings game.
“It was my decision to end the show earlier. Gusto kong mamaalam sa teleserye nang taas-noo,” an emotional Santos said during a press conference for the HKLM finale.
During the same event, Santos said that she has not decided on her next career move yet when asked to comment about rumors that she is leaving ABS-CBN. She also admitted that her contract with the Kapamilya network has already expired and that there were offers from other TV stations. However, she added that she needed time to mull things over before deciding to renew or take offers from other networks.
“Yung paglipat o pag-renew ng kontrata, hindi ko pa masagot kasi gusto ko munang magpahinga. Siguro a couple of weeks,” the actress said.
“Ayaw kong magdesisyon na masama ang loob, baka mali ang desisyon ko. Ayaw kong magdesisyon nang masaya kasi baka mali rin ang maging desisyon ko. Gusto kong magdesisyon nang nasa practical ang desisyon ko. Kasi lahat naman tayo nagiging praktikal sa buhay pagdating sa pamilya natin. Tao lang ako, nasasaktan din naman ako. Kailangan ko lang magpahinga,” she added.
