Judy Ann Santos was initially hesitant to accept the job of hosting Bet On Your Baby, which is the local version of an American game show.

What convinced the actress to accept this hosting job?

"At first hindi pa [ako convinced]," admitted Juday (Judy Ann's nickname) during her September 26 press conference held at the 9501 restaurant at the ABS-CBN compound.

Bet On Your Baby is designed for families with children aged two to three and a half years old. Through a series of games, it aims to prove the importance of having a strong bond between parents and their kids.

Juday, who is dubbed as the Queen of Pinoy Soap Opera, also admitted that she had to make some adjustments when she shifted to being a game show host.

PEP.ph (Philippine Entertainment Portal) asked Juday to cite the difficulties that she encountered while hosting Bet On Your Baby.

She pointed out: "Madami! Unang-una ang kaba ng puso ko...Pangalawa, yung takot na baka mali ang mechanics na masabi mo because you're thinking of four games in one taping. Every taping, you change those three games so nag -iba-iba ng mechanics.

Saka minsan, I would just refer to them as mommy and daddy kasi baka mali ang masabi kong pangalan. E, we're taped as live.

Mahirap siyang balansehin, ha," she quipped.

I would like to believe that I can do it."

Is she ready for critics who would compare her to other game show hosts?

"Saka, comparisons give you more room for improvement.

WELCOME BREATHER. As part of Juday's two-year contract with the Kapamilya Network, she is slated to do a drama series.

For this reason, she considers Bet On Your Baby as a welcome breather.

Did this game show clinch the deal for her to accept the offer of ABS-CBN?

"I would say yes kasi breather siya.

For now, Juday wants to concentrate in this new endeavor.

Hindi siya game show, reality show siya," she said about her previous competitive cooking reality show.

How different is the Philippine version from the ABC show that aired on American television?

"Tayo kasi mas ano tayo, di ba, mas gusto natin yung naririnig natin yung kwento.

"And at the same time, mas maraming educational tips na makukuha sa Bet On Your Baby compared to other franchises ng Bet sa ibang bansa."

What are the prizes at stake in this game show?

"Lahat [ng contestants], may mauuwing cash prize kasi bawat game, they can go home with either P5,000 or P10,000. Sa jackpot round, walang matatalo kasi P50,000 ang cash prize to as high as P1 million."

Would she allow her son Lucho to join this game show?

"Opo, kasi parang exciting siya. For the longest time, ngayon lang nagkaroon ng game show for babies at naglalaro lang sila.

The TV host-actress also expressed her gratitude for her husband, Ryan Agoncillo, for being her mentor in hosting.

Ryan has won awards for hosting from various award-giving bodies and he is already in the Hall of Fame of the Aliw Awards for Best Male Emcee.

"Yung preparation is to really see kung paano ba talaga makipag-usap sa parents.

"Ang dami kong pointers talaga, up to the day talaga na magte-taping ako, magkausap pa kami sa telepono dahil talagang kinakabahan ako.

Bet On Your Baby, hosted by Judy Ann Santos, is set to hit Philippine television this October.
