Preparation and Cooking Time: 30-45 minutes

 INGREDIENTS

6 pieces Large Scallops (chunks)

Olive Oil

Foie Gras pate

Filo Pastry

Butter

Salt and Pepper

Dipping Sauce

2 tablespoons Red Bell Pepper, uniformly sliced 1cm x 1 cm

2 tablespoons Green Bell Pepper, same size

1 tablespoon Shallots, same size

1 teaspoon Garlic, same size

1/2 cup Olive oil

Freshly grated Parmesan Cheese

1/2 teaspoon Sugar

3 tablespoons Cooking Cream

PROCEDURE

1. Preheat oven at 180 degrees.

Hindi na makakasama si Jericho Rosales sa teleseryeng Against All Odds katulad ng napabalita kamakailan. Pinalitan na raw ng ibang aktor na gaganap sa role na dapat ay kay Jericho. Samantala, pinaghandaan talaga ng aktor ang muli nilang pagti-taping para sa nasabing soap opera. Nag-hire pa raw si Sam ng tutor para sa kanyang pagsasalita ng wikang Pilipino.

“Happy ako na kahit paano tumigil ang taping namin sa Against All Odds tapos nag-start kami sa Kahit Konting Pagtingin kasi nag-improve Tagalog ko. Noong nag-start kasi kaming mag-taping last year, ’di ako masyado nag-aral noong time na ’yun. Ngayon todo na pag-aaral ko sa Tagalog. May tutor na ako, she’s a dubbing director. So ngayon unti-unti na akong gumagaling pero siyempre may times na talagang nahirapan ako dahil sa accent ko. But the important thing is nag-i-improve ako,” pagbabahagi ng binata.

Umaasa rin si Sam na sana ay mapansin ng kanyang leading lady na si Judy Ann Santos ang pagiging matatas na niya sa Tagalog.

Now that the business unit of ABS-CBN for the series ‘Against All Odds’ has resumed taping and location shooting, it’s pretty obvious who have been replaced by whom in the cast.

But TV insiders said these replacements, which included even the original director, Malu Sevilla, are due to the stars’ busy schedules and have nothing to do with their acting talent or behaviour on the set.

Sevilla, who is now holding the reins for the fantasy series ‘Juan de la Cruz’, starring Coco Martin, was replaced by Jerry Sineneng and Toots Mariscal.

John Estrada, meanwhile, has replaced Jericho Rosales, who declined to be part of the new TV series, as he would be doing a movie in Indonesia. Estrada has clarified, however, that he was really part of the original cast, but begged off for a few months as he was then finishing another TV series, ‘A Beautiful Affair’.

The lead performers Judy Ann Santos and Sam Milby are still in ‘Against All Odds’, a dark melodrama involving women fighting adversity in life and marriage. The series is due to air this first quarter.

It was because of Santos’s busy schedule that the taping of ‘Against All Odds’ has incurred delay. Santos, more popularly known as Juday, was then hosting the just concluded reality show, ‘Pinoy Master Chef’.

Sevilla, who remains director of ‘Toda Max’, has already done some episodes for ‘Against All Odds’, which, according to insiders, are all very good.

Shown every Saturday, ‘Toda Max’ is a comedy series starring Robin Padilla, Vhong Navarro, Pokwang and Angel Locsin.

Band vocalist JR Royol took home P1 M, a kitchen showcase and a culinary scholarship for becoming the first Pinoy MasterChef in a final live cook-off held at the SM Skydome on Saturday, February 9.

His winning dish, the Bigorot,or three-way cooked chicken, earned a total of 96.1 points from the panel of judge composed of Ferns Aracama, Rolando Laudico, Jayps Anglo, host Judy Ann Santos and celebrity guest judges Kris Aquino and Richard Gomez.

Kris described JR’s fusion of Bicolano and Igorot chicken cuisine as "perfection."

Entrepreneur Carla Marcaida, who prepared adobong tuna and kaning dilaw, placed second, with a score of 93.9 points.

Ivory Yat’s Palabok Finale dish ranked third with 93 points.

Myra Santos, who was eliminated in the last challenge before the final round, placed fourth. Her coconut sambal and rice and turones de buco failed to impress the chef judges.

MANILA, Philippines – Actor Jericho Rosales admitted that he felt bad that he needed to back out of his supposed project with actress Judy Ann Santos and KC Concepcion.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Tuesday, Rosales cited conflicts in schedule as the reason he won’t be part of the upcoming television series anymore.
“Wala namang tampo tampo or anything but the management spoke to the production team and they said they totally understand. I’m a little bit sad siyempre kasi feeling ko na-let down ko sila. They are expecting na kasali na ako pero biglang hindi na,” he said,
While he will no longer be part of the cast, Rosales said he wishes the show well.
“I'm sure it will be a hit and they look like masasayang magkakasama naman. Maybe [I can work with them again] on the next soap,” he said.
For now, Rosales is looking forward to doing his international project which will be shot in Malaysia, in the Philippines and some parts of Europe.
“It's a TV series na ipapalabas sa Malaysia. We got the offer last year, and the guys from the network there came over para makipag-meeting sa amin. We said yes. Exciting siya,” he said.
He is supposed to be paired with actress Kristine Hermosa in the project but Rosales said he is not sure if the actress already accepted it.
Asked if he will be gone for a long time because of this project, Rosales said: “Siguro. Hindi ko pa masasabi. 'Yung schedule kasi nila the least a couple of months. Pero maganda ang schedule nila eh so okay naman.”
“Nothing is final final final but the offer is there, the guys went here and then we talked about schedule and stuff,” he added.
Meanwhile, the actor clarified that this international project was not the reason he backed out of his supposed series with Santos and Concepcion.
“Hindi naman. Nagkataon lang kasi na-delay din ng na-delay 'yung soap. Gusto ko sana talagang gawin but we were supposed to start November last year – no earlier than that pa because I remember accepting the project August or September and then na-delay ng konti because of schedule issues so hindi ko na... I didn't choose something over something,” he explained.

Ryan Agoncillo and wife Judy Ann Santos celebrated with a night-out after the Court of Tax Appeals dismissed on Wednesday the tax evasion case filed against her by the Bureau of Internal Revenue.
“We did ! We did! Right after the acquittal we had a couple of drinks right after just to let off some steam. It was fun!” Ryan exclaimed to News5 on Friday.
Judy Ann has expressed relief and satisfaction about the dismissal of the case, telling one interviewer it felt better than getting a Best Actress award.
Naturally, Ryan is happy for her and said he and his wife are prepared to settle her P3.4 million tax deficiency as assessed by the court.
“Walang may gusto ng may kaaway. Walang may gusto ng kaso so whatever needs to be done will be done,” he declared.
Meanwhile, Ryan feels like a proud parent with the way some young contestants of his TV5 show “Talentadong Pinoy Junior” are gaining popularity and getting exposure on other networks.
“I see them everywhere — even in corporate shows!… When you lose a contest it doesn’t necessarily mean you have the worst talent. Minsan mas magaling ka pa sa nanalo,” he said.
The semifinals of “Talentadong Pinoy Junior” will be held on Sunday, and the grand finals on January 27.

MANILA, Philippines - Judy Ann Santos refuses to lend credence to persistent rumors dogging her husband, Ryan Agoncillo, who has been accused of supposedly engaging in extra-marital relations.

Apparently, she believes the malicious insinuations vacuous, if downright preposterous.

“I guess hindi mo maiaalis ang mga ganyang tsismis sa isang couple na masaya ang pagsasama,” said she, nonchalantly shrugging the matter in an interview on “The Buzz” on Sunday.

Seemingly exasperated about the accusation, which has been feeding the rumor mill since last year, Santos pointed to some ne’er-do-wells that are apparently intent on the destruction of their happy union.

“Pupukpukin at pupukpukin talaga kayo ng intriga hanggang masaya kayong dalawa,” she said.

“‘Pag naghiwalay naman kayo, pipilitin naman kayong magkabalikan. ‘Pag masaya naman kayo, pipilitin kayong paghiwalayin. Pero ako, kung saan na lang sila masaya, kung naniniwala sila sa gusto nila paniwalaan, go. Hindi ako makikipag-debate sa kanila,” she added.

In previous interviews, Santos had repeatedly denied snags in her relationship with Agoncillo because of an alleged third party.

Late last year, she went public parrying allegations that she has been closely guarding her husband because of a certain actress.

Abut-abot ang pasalamat ni Mommy Carol sa desisyong ng Court of Tax Appeals dahil walong taong dala-dala ng anak niya ang problemang ito.

“Kaya nga umiyak talaga ang j bunso ko sa phone nu’ng sinabi niya sa akin. Nandito kasi ako ngayon sa Cebu,“ kuwento pa ni Mmmy Carol sa amin.

Halos kasing-edad pala ng panganay ni Juday na si Yohan ang kaso.

“Oo nga, kanina lang ibinaba ang desisyon, after 8 long years,“ sabi niya.

Sinampahan ng tax evasion case si Judy Ann ng Bureau of Internal J Revenue noong 2002 dahil kulang daw ang idineklarang kinita niya.

Ayon sa BIR, P8.033 million lang ang idineklara ng aktres na base naman sa record ay umabot sa halagang P16.3 million ang natanggap niyang talent fees mula sa ABS-CBN, Viva Productions, Star Cinema, at product endorsements.

Ayon sa 46-page decision na pinirmahan ng third division associate justices na sina Lovell Bautista at Amelia Cotangco-Manalastas, “underdeclared“ ang mga kinita ng aktres kaya inatasan siyang magbayad ng P3.4 million para sa income tax deficiency niya noong 2002. May karagdagang 20 percent a interest para sa bawat taon bilang tax penalty at delinquency interest.

Pero mukhang hindi pa rin susuko ang BIR dahil hindi pa rin daw sila titigil sa pagsulong ng reklamo nila laban kay Judy Ann.

Sa isang statement, sinabi ng BIR, “It has always been the BIR’s position that the tax code provides the presumption of fraud in cases of underdeclaration of 30 percent. Ms. Santos’s underdeclaration exceeds 100 percent and the defense never submitted any evidence to disprove such presumption.“

Iginiit din ng BIR na ang desisyon ay salungat sa “willful blindness“ doctrine ng Court of Tax Appeals at ng Supreme Court.

Gayunpaman, umaasa ang ina ni Juday na tuluyan ng maayos ang problema ng anak sa BIR.

“Nakakatawa na nang masarap ang anak ko,“ sabi niya.

Samantala, umpisa pa lang ng 2013 ay maganda na ang pasok kay Juday dahil nag-resume na siya sa taping ng Against All Odds habang umeere ang Master Chef Pinoy Edition.

Manila, Philippines – The Court of Tax Appeals (CTA) dismissed yesterday the tax evasion charges filed against movie and television star Judy Ann Santos by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) for insufficiency of evidence.

But the tax court ordered her to pay the BIR some P3.4 million in deficiency income tax, including interests and surcharges.

The former soap opera star sobbed silently and shed tears upon hearing the verdict read by the clerk of court of the CTA’s Third Division presided by Justice Lovell Bautista. Ms. Santos said: “thank God it was over,” as she hurriedly left the courtroom with her husband TV host Ryan Agoncillo.

In acquitting the former soap opera star of the criminal aspect of the case, the CTA said the prosecutors failed to probe beyond reasonable doubt that she intended to evade payment of correct taxes.

BIR Commissioner Kim S. Jacinto-Henares refused to make comment, saying she has not yet seen the decision. But BIR lawyers who were present during the reading of the sentence expressed dismay and said they might appeal the decision. One of the lawyers said “the BIR can appeal by certionari in the acquittal and Ms. Santos may appeal the civil liabilities.” (
