Sam Milby Denies Low Rating Is Reason For Premature Ending Of "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala"

Sam Milby said the rating of "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" is significantly higher than its rival "My Husband's Lover," which means that rumors saying it is being axed because of low ratings are not true.
Originally, the teleserye was scheduled for 13 episodes or one season. Milby was hoping it could be extended but unfortunately, ABS-CBN did not plan to do so. Instead, rumors started surfacing it would be bumped to a later timeslot because of Daniel Padilla's and Kathryn Bernardo's "Got To Believe."
"Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" premiered on June 17 and will end on August 23. Milby said it is saddening to know that the teleserye will end in two weeks. He enjoyed taping with Judy Ann Santos and KC Concepcion for more than a year.
He thanked Santos for sacrificing so much for the teleserye and for choosing him and Concepcion as co-stars. Santos personally chose the two for the roles of Eros and Alexis.
Milby maintained he had been getting such positive feedback regarding the teleserye that he sometimes hope it doesn't have to end so soon. However, the actor furthered it is also a good thing that "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" will end on a high note.
The teleserye revolves around the life of Anessa (Santos), a provincial girl who married Eros (Milby), a rich businessman. Eros' father, Romulus (Tirso Cruz III), did not approve of their relationship from the start. He tried to do everything to tore them apart.
At first, everything was fine until Eros started physically and sexually abusing his wife. Anessa even caught him in an affair with Alexis (Concepcion), Eros' supposed bestfriend who was in love with him since they were children.
Romulus tried to kill Anessa to gain custody of his grandson. Five years after, Anessa came back to seek revenge against Eros, Romulus and Alexis. She also wants to get her son back.
Aside from rumors of low ratings, Santos' contract with ABS-CBN will also be ending soon. Some said she is in talks with TV5's Manny Pangilinan. The actress apparently did not take kindly to the management's plan to bump her teleserye to a later timeslot since this will affect their ratings.
