MANILA, Philippines – A picture is worth a thousand words and for fans of primetime superstars Piolo Pascual and Judy Ann Santos, one is enough to spark hope for a reunion project from their idols.
Six years since the two prized Kapamilya stars headlined a project that supposedly resulted in a gap between them, Pascual and Santos were, much to their supporters' excitement, once again seen in a photo together.
Posted by ABS-CBN Ad and Promo Manager Biboy Arboleda via Instagram on Thursday, the photo saw a smiling and dapper Pascual in a crisp black suit posing with an equally stunning Santos in a classic black ensemble.
“Nagkasalubong and nag usap nagkamustahan nagtawanan backstage abs cbn trade event @bubupjp and judy ann santos,” read the photo’s caption pertaining to the Kapamilya trade event held on Thursday where upcoming shows of the network together with its actors were showcased.
Soon as the photo was posted, loyal supporters aired their hopes for a reunion project from the former love team.
On behalf of the band of fans of the two, a certain zutto_daisuki0823 said, “sana magkamovie na sila ulit!”
Instagram user slydybubu on the other hand wrote, “Ang hari at reyna!!! Walang kokontra.”
Bold user the_ronald_yohann, meanwhile, stated, “i hope hinde na magmasungit si mr. alfie [Lorenzo, Juday’s manager] ‘pag nakita ‘tong picture... Sana wag na cya magalit kay piolo.”
Recall that the once-popular love team was said to have drifted apart around the time they worked on the Star Cinema-produced movie, “Don’t Give Up On Us” back in 2006. Rumor had it that Santos’ then-boyfriend-now-husband Ryan Agoncillo was displeased about the love team’s onscreen kissing scenes that he went as far as asking ABS-CBN’s film arm to edit out all the said scenes in the film.
Although Agoncillo had denied making such a "demand," whispers further grew when Pascual supposedly made a comment about the former’s then-blossoming relationship with Santos. This, in turn, reportedly miffed Agoncillo, which prompted him to write an open letter to the press.
A part of which, as previously reported by Bulletin Entertainment, read, “I just have this today. Next time I see him, I'll put him in his place.”
Eventually, the two men were able to bury the hatchet at the wake of former actor Ross Rival, who was also actress Maja Salvador’s father, on Nov. 19, 2007.
