MANILA, Philippines – The mother of actress Judy Ann Santos has shot down reports that her daughter gave birth Saturday morning.
Carol Santos, fondly called Mommy Carol in the industry, told “The Buzz” that she was surprised as reporters bombarded her with phone calls to confirm the news.
She maintained that there is no truth to the news, which already spread on the Internet.
“Unang-unang nag-text sa akin si Tintin Babao (TV personality Christine Babao), tinatanong kung nanganak na daw si Juday. Tapos mayroon nang tumawag na mga press, sunod-sunod nang tumawag ‘yong press. Natawa lang siya (Judy Ann). Nasa bahay lang siya ngayon,” Mommy Carol said.
It was reported that Judy Ann gave birth to her and actor-host Ryan Agoncillo’s first born, Juan Luis (Luchio), on October 2 around 3:30 a.m.
Social media sites like Twitter have been flooded with greetings for the couple.
Amid all the misinformation, Mommy Carol said her daughter might give birth anytime this week. She also shared that everything has already been set for Luchio's coming.
“From mga things ng baby to the hospital room, naka-reserve na. Even si Ryan, nag-aadvance taping na kasi he’s going to have a two-week vacation leave kapag nanganak na si Juday to help her out sa pag-alaga kay Luchio,” mommy Carol added.
Mommy Carol also disclosed that Agoncillo will be inside the delivery room when Judy Ann gives birth.
“Si Yohan (the couple’s adopted child) nakakatuwa, she wants also to go inside the delivery room para makita daw na talagang inaalagaan ng mga nurses ‘yong mommy niya. Si Ryan definitely will be inside kasi nag-take din ng mga birthing exercises kaya he’s helping Juday sa pagpapanganak,” she said.
Mommy Carol also slammed rumors that her family will keep it a secret just like her daughter's marriage in April 2008.
“I don’t think this will be a secret just like the wedding. Dapat itong pag-anak mo, kailangan yan ipakita sa mundo. Kapag nanganak na siya, ite-text ko kayo, ito na hinihintay niyo. Go,” Mommy Carol said.
As to those who are spreading the false information, she said: “Whoever is doing that baka akala niya siguro hindi pa full term si Juday. baka akala niya premature. Darling, mali ka ng akala, full term na ‘yong baby namin. Pero thanks, ikaw yata ang excited. Manganak ka na lang."
