MANILA, Philippines -- Actress Judy Ann Santos, who has started working on her upcoming series "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala," expressed her support to comedienne Ai Ai delas Alas.

In an emotionalinterview with "The Buzz" on Sunday, delas Alas accused husband Jed Salang of physical abuse, as she confirmed that she left him on May 2 -- just almost a month after their wedding in Las Vegas.
Santos said she feels sad for her friend.
"I don't know Jed personally and I have nothing else to  say to him. It's just that really sad na ang isang love story na pinangarap ng isang tao, all of the sudden biglang nawala. Sana talaga ay walang ganoon," Santos told reporters on Wednesday during the pictorial of her upcoming series, which promotes women empowerment.
"Sana hindi umaabot ang lalaki sa puntong kailangang pagbuhatan ng kamay ang babae, asawa, anak, nanay o sino man kasi hindi dapat nagkakasakitan ang mga taong nagmamahalan," she added.
Santos, who was last seen on TV hosting "MasterChef Pinoy Edition," said she is dedicating her newest soap to all women who have suffered like delas Alas.
Mahal namin siya and we are all here for her.
"Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" tells the story of Anessa, a battered wife who will do everything to be free from her husband and to protect her child.
The 'queen' is back
In the interview, Santos said she is excited about "Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala," which is her first telserye since "Habang May Buhay" in 2010.
"Sa totoo sobrang mas 'yung kaba, 'yung tuwa, nakaka-overwhelm at pressure. Wala ng stress, much more on nakaka-tense kasi iniisip mo kung ano ang magiging reaction ng tao mo after a long time," says Santos.
The actress admitted that she agreed to do the series to inspire women to fight for their rights.
Santos said the series also encourages women to be physically fit.
For the series, Santos will undergo martial arts training.
"May iti-take up kaming martial arts pero hindi pa namin alam. Basta it's all about self-defense kung paano mo i-defend sarili mo na walang armas," said Santos, who is into boxing.
"Huwag Ka Lang Mawawala" will air its pilot episode on June 17 on ABS-CBN's Primetime Bida block.
