Top 10 Prettiest Celebrity Brides

Published: 2011-06-29 07:45:00

(SPOT.ph) Nobody, not even a celebrity, could possibly be immune to the stress that comes with wedding planning. The dizzying options for everything—from choosing wedding gowns to trimming down the guest list—can cause many a sleepless night, stress-related binge-eating, and the look of utter exhaustion to be written all over the bride-to-be's face. Hence, we tip our hats off to the most radiant celeb brides who walked down the aisle looking even more stunning than usual, flaunting gorgeously-groomed hair, a figure-flattering dress that shows off her style, and that unmistakable I’m-getting-married-to-the-man-of-my-dreams glow.

2. Judy Ann Santos
Judy Ann Santos' Batangas wedding to TV host Ryan Agoncillo escaped local media coverage because the couple made an effort to keep the details under wraps. The decision proved to be the right one: the bride looked visibly relaxed and radiant during their early-morning church ceremony and beach reception.
Judy Ann wore a Paul Cabral wedding gown with a layered tulle skirt and petal cut-outs in satin, and chose to wear her hair down with soft curls. Simple yet classy, she kept everything at a minimum with simple stud earrings and fresh, pink-hued makeup.

Wedding date: April 28, 2009

Mama Daisy called me in the midst of my meeting with OctoArts boss Orly Ilacad at Annabel’s restaurant while Boss Orly was beside himself with joy dahil among the MMFF entries ang kanyang “My Househusband” na tampok sina Juday at Ryan ay number one sa ganda ng istorya sa lahat ng mga na-submit na stories kaya napili kaagad ito.

Happy si Boss Orly kasi it has been three years na kaming nag-uusap for a Juday movie sa outfit niya.

Iniabot niya sa akin ang kontrata for the movie for me to read and sign if agreed on the terms.

And definitely, walang starlets from Star Magic na makakasali sa movie!

A sneak peek of Junior Master chef Pinoy Edition (video)

SHOWBIZ NEWS NOW NA!

“He is very busy lalo na ngayon but he makes it a point to be home. He makes it a point na makabawi sa mga bagets and he’s a good dad, he’s a really good dad and understanding husband.

Last year, big winners sina Ai Ai at bosing Vic, kaya napakalaking ambisyon ang pagsamahin sila this time.

Hahahaha!
Coco Martin admits crush on Maja Salvador, but insists they’re just friends

“May naririnig akong ganun,” sabi niya.

MOVIE WITH JUDY ANN.

What makes a great movie?

by Nickie Wang

Six months from now, a swarm of locally-produced movies will be exhibited at multiplexes for the annual Metro Manila Film Festival–Philippines.

On June 17, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority or MMDA, the same government agency tasked to manage solid waste disposal, flood control and sewerage, and transport and traffic in Metro Manila, announced the eight official entries to the 37th edition of MMFF.

Included in this year’s list are movies starring MMFF regulars Vic Sotto and AiAi delas Alas (for Star Cinema, M-Zet Films and APT Entertainment co-production Enteng ng Ina Mo), and Bong Revilla (GMA Films and Imus Productions’ Panday 2). And of course, the annual film festival will not be complete without Regal Films’ Shake Rattle & Roll, which is now on its 13th installment.

Other entries that made the final cut in this year’s festival are: Regal Films and SMDC’s Hototay (featuring John Lapus, Ruffa Gutierrez, Andi Eigenmann, Lovi Poe, and Melai Cantiveros); RP Productions’ Mr. Wong (top-billed by Robin Padilla and Angelica Panganiban); OctoArts Films’ My Househusband (starring Ryan Agoncillo and Judy Ann Santos); MJM Productions’ Segunda Mano (starring Kris Aquino, Dingdong Dantes and Angelica Panganiban); and Studio 5’s Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow (with Dennis Trillo, Heart Evangelista, Carla Abellana, and Ritz Azul as the main cast).

Every year, they are almost the same names that we see on the big screen, giving moviegoers a dose of local movies for the entire last week of the year. Expectedly, MMFF regulars are the same people that would go up and down the stage to give acceptance speeches on the festival’s awards night. Similarly, their films are also likely to dominate the box-office.

In its 37 years in existence, has MMFF raised the bar of Philippine filmmaking? Or can we consider the films included in the annual event great movies?

To qualify a production as a great movie is subjective. Different people coming from different social background can have different views on what makes a great film. In the point of view of an average reasonable person, a great movie must be entertaining to begin with. It must have the capacity to affect our emotions and most importantly it must have a good story plot. Visually arousing scenes and special effects work for a certain kind of genre let say for example in fantasy and action but every film must cast good and intelligent actors who will essay roles that the viewers can relate to.

These are just simple parameters on how to consider a great film but let’s admit we can only count those movies that qualify as good ones. Forget about technology in filmmaking, it’s an alien territory to local filmmakers. In fact, we are far behind our neighboring countries, much even behind Hollywood or even Bollywood.

In the eyes of movie producers and executives in production houses, what they produce are of good quality. Well, it’s either they are in denial or underestimating local moviegoers. Worse, they have really dubious taste in movies.

Lauren Dyogi describes Judy Ann Santos as the perfect host for 'Junior Master Chef'

6/21/2011 8:39 AM
by: Napoleon Quintos

Lauren Dyogi has another surprise for all fans of ABS-CBN reality shows. After the success of Pinoy Big Brother and The Biggest Loser: Pinoy Edition, Direk Lauren’s team is now cooking up a Philippine version of Junior MasterChef. The show will put children in a contest to see who has the best culinary skill.

In an interview with Push.com.ph during the general assembly of the top sixty young contestants, “Direk Lauren shared that he is very excited about having Judy Ann Santos as host of JMC Pinoy edition. Naisip agad namin si Judy Ann dahil nagawa na niya ‘yung teleserye na Ysabella, which was about cooking.”

He added that JMC is a perfect show for Judy Ann because this will combine two things that the young superstar love very much: cooking and kids.

However, since this is her first time to do a hosting job, Judy Ann had confessed in a separate interview that she is very nervous about JMC. But for a seasoned reality show director like Lauren, he said this nervousness may serve a good purpose for Judy Ann.

Direk Lauren also said he is confident that Judy Ann will do a good job as host of JMC. “She’s very professional. Kapag may tinanggap siyang project she will make sure na pagaaralan niya nang mabuti at ibibigay niya ‘yung best niya. We’re excited to be working with her on this show.”

Aside from Judy Ann, JMC: Pinoy Edition will also feature three top chefs in the country who will taste and judge whatever the kid contestants will serve on the table. Direk Lauren talked about how he and his team chose Chefs Fern Aracama, Rolando Laudico, and JP Anglo as their judges. “Mahirap din ang prosesong ‘yan. Nagpa-audition din kami ng ilang professional chefs. Si Chef JP nahanap namin sa Iloilo. Si Chef Fern inalok namin pero nung una sabi niya busy na siya pero good thing lumuwag bigla ‘yung schedule niya and he immediately told us na gusto niyang maging part ng show. We’re very happy with our three judges.”

In the end there will only be one winner of JMC who will take home one million pesos plus a scholarship to a top culinary school. Direk Lauren related the popular reasons of these kids for wanting to be part of the show. “Marami talaga ang hilig ang pagluluto. ‘Yung iba gustong hasain ang kanilang talento sa pagluluto at baka in the future ay maging magaling silang chef at makatulong sa pamilya. I’m sure they will exceed our expectation.”

Film fest becomes an extension of network wars

By: Bayani San Diego Jr.
Philippine Daily Inquirer

Déjà vu. Like last year, the country’s top three networks—ABS-CBN, TV 5 and GMA 7—have again fielded entries to this December’s Metro Manila Film Festival, now in its 37th year.

ABS-CBN collaborates with M-Zet and APT for Tony Y. Reyes’ comedy caper “Enteng ng Ina Mo,” which brings together fest crowd-drawers Vic Sotto and Ai-Ai de las Alas.

GMA 7 teams up anew with Imus Productions for Mac Alejandre’s “Ang Panday 2,” sequel to the 2009 action-fantasy top-grosser starring Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Phillip Salvador and Iza Calzado.

TV 5’s Studio 5 joins forces with Regal Entertainment for Jun Lana’s “Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow,” top-billed by Dennis Trillo, Heart Evangelista and Carla Abellana.

Regal has two other entries: The comedy “Hototay” and the horror franchise “Shake, Rattle & Roll XIII.”

Regal producer Roselle Monteverde promises that “Shake XIII” will be the last of the popular series. “We want to end it with a bang. We got three young filmmakers—Chris Martinez, Richard Somes and Jerrold Tarog—to direct the episodes.”

“Shake XIII” headlines Eugene Domingo, Kathryn Bernardo and Paulo Avelino.

“Hototay” marks Regal’s first co-production venture with SMDC Films—the movie outfit of mall giant SM. Directed by Joel Lamangan, “Hototay” features Ruffa Gutierrez, Andi Eigenmann, Lovi Poe and Melai Cantiveros.

Ric Camaligan, member of the festival executive committee, describes “Hototay” as a “comic ‘Mano Po.’”

New producers join this year’s fest as well.

Robin Padilla’s RCP Productions offers the action flick “Mr. Wong,” while the thriller “Segunda Mano” is produced by MJM in partnership with producers-lead stars Dingdong Dantes and Kris Aquino.

Also marking a return to the fest are the Agoncillos. Real-life married couple Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo reunite with filmmaker Jose Javier Reyes in the comedy “My House Husband,” under OctoArts. The Agoncillos and Reyes are behind the back-to-back fest blockbusters, “Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo” and “Sakal, Sakali, Saklolo.”

Agoncillo said: “It’s my homecoming to OctoArts, the same company that produced my first MMFF entry (“Kutob”) in 2006.”

According to reports, Cinemedia submitted another Judy Ann Santos-starrer, a drama titled “Love Will Lead You Back” which pairs her with Coco Martin.

But rules dictate that a lead actor can have only one fest entry. “I’m happy with the jurors’ choice,” said Santos.

“It’s a good blend of different genres. The final eight have good box-office potential,” said Boots Anson-Roa, executive committee member.

Judy Ann praises Pinoy Junior Master Chefs

MANILA, Philippines - Actress Judy Ann Santos enjoys taping for ABS-CBN's upcoming reality show "Junior Master Chef: Pinoy Edition."

Santos said she still can't believe there are young Filipinos who can cook very well.

The actress added that the show's contestants are living proof that a lot of Pinoy children are not yet glued to the TV and Internet.

"Nakikitaan mo ang mga bata na nakaka-proud kasi hindi pala lahat ng bata glued on television and on Internet. Most of them [ay] mahilig magluto. So ang [gusto sana namin] ay ma-inspire ang mga bata na magluto at hopefully kung may season 2 ng 'Master Chef' there are kids na mag-excel pa," she said.

Santos admitted that she is nervous about this first hosting job, which is new to her.

So, kung may sablay man, I'm trying very hard. I'm trying na may maipakitang iba o bago sa larangan ng pag-aartista," she explained.

Santos said that the number one challenge in the show is how to criticize the kids' work without hurting the junior chefs.

Judy Ann Santos on Coco Martin: "Nakikita ko yung pagka-intense niya bilang aktor."

Nakikita ko kay Coco kung paano niya pinagbubuti yung trabaho niya, magaganda yung mga projects niya,"  says Judy Ann Santos about the possibility of working with Coco Martin in a movie.
Judy Ann Santos on Coco Martin: "Nakikita ko yung pagka-intense niya bilang aktor."
Paula Joan Garcia

After months of being away from the spotlight, Judy Ann Santos is hoping to make a comeback on the big screen. Indie prince turned drama prince Coco Martin is reportedly being eyed to be her leading man.

In a previous interview, Coco said he would love to be given this rare opportunity. He was quoted as saying: "Bata pa lang ako pinapanood ko na si Ms Judy Ann...in Esperanza, Krystala.

For her part, Judy Ann also expressed her admiration for Coco, who is currently topbilling ABS-CBN's primetime series Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin.

Though Juday clarified that the said project has yet to be finalized, she complimented the young actor for taking his acting career to heart.

Versatile actress that she is, Juday is also preparing for her first stint as a TV host. She will share her passion for the culinary arts by hosting ABS-CBN's upcoming reality cooking show, Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition.

Produced by the same team that adapted Pinoy Big Brother and The Biggest Loser for Philippine television, Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition is the local adaptation of the British show that features contestants aged 8 to 12.

Juday promises a kitchen culture that Pinoys can claim as their own: "Siyempre may mga ginagawa sa abroad na hindi mo puwedeng gawin dito sa Pilipinas kasi we have a different culture.

Judy Ann has two Film Fest entries

* * *

ABOUT SHOWBIZ Ni Nitz Miralles (Pilipino Star Ngayon) Updated June 15, 2011 12:00 AM

Hindi namin nakuha ang title ng movie to be produced by OctoArts Films and to be directed by Joey Reyes.

Judy Ann Santos hopes her movie project with Coco Martin will push through

6/09/2011 8:36 AM

by: Napoleon Quintos

Push This
060911-juday_main.jpgFans of Judy Ann Santos continue to wait for her to become active again on television and in movies. The actress is preparing for her newest TV project, ABS-CBN’s reality show Junior Master Chef where she will serve, for the first time in her career, as host. However, in terms of other projects, Judy Ann said her comeback is still dependent upon discussion with different producers and the material to be offered to her.

As early as now there are talks that the Young Superstar is set to star in a movie opposite Coco Martin. Judy Ann clarified that the said project is still under discussion. Nevertheless, the actress expressed her admiration for Coco as an actor.

Judy Ann was further flattered when told that Coco looks up to her as an actress. In return, she praised the actor for having achieved so much at a young age, one of which is being recently named as Aktor ng Dekada by the Gawad Urian.

She promised that once the movie with Coco is finalized, she will quickly fill everyone in on the details. For now, all that is in her mind is her first venture into hosting with JMC, produced but the same team that brought us Pinoy Big Brother and The Biggest Loser: Pinoy Edition. How does the Filipino version of JMC differ from the other ones shown abroad?

JMC Pinoy Edition is already in the process of trimming down 60 young hopefuls to the official contestants who will make it to the competition proper. The 60 kids from all over the Philippines were recently gathered together in general assembly held at ABS-CBN’s Dolphy Theater last May 23. Judy Ann talked about how she is very much excited about meeting these kids and bonding with them over culinary activities.

Is it true what Ryan Agoncillo confessed to a writer of a glossy showbiz magazine that while wife Judy Ann Santos was pregnant with their first-born Lucho, Senator Tito Sotto advised him na para ma-assured na magiging kamukha niya ang kanilang panganay, huwag na siyang makipag-argue with Juday?

Ang resulta, based on Lucho’s photographs na  lumalabas, kamukhang-kamukha nga ni Ryan ang bata.

No wonder, too, na lahat din ng anak ni Tito Sen, mapa-babae at mapa-lalaki (nag-iisa lang si Gian, now a councilor ng Q.C.) ay mga kamukha niya.

Though ultra-busy with his hosting job for his top-rating show Talentadong Pinoy on TV5, Ryan co-hosts with Tito Sen, Joey de Leon at Vic Sotto sa daily and equally popular show Eat Bulaga on GMA-7.

While trying to lose weight following childbirth, Judy Ann Santos faces TVC cameras, which don’t seem to mind whether she’s slim or not. Juday’s current endorsements are mostly for family audiences, justifying her current state of physical abundance.
Heard that Judy Ann’s next account is a hot dog brand, wherein she’ll be joined by her husband Ryan Agoncillo and her daughter, Yohan in a series of endorsements.
Meanwhile, Judy Ann’s endorsement of Del Monte Pineapple has reportedly widened reach of the brand, famous for enhancing the taste of everyday Pinoy dishes like adobo. Juday says Del Monte Pineapple also has recipes for Pork Humba, Pancit, Guisado and a lot more to which you can add Del Monte Pineapple.
Incidentally, Judy Ann comes back to TV by way of a reality show,  “Junior Master Chef,” which she will host very soon on channel 2. GMA, however, has jumped the gun on the cooking contest show for children by launching “Amazing Cooking Kids,” hosted by Carmina Villaroel, much ahead of competition.
