FIRST: Regine and Judy Ann pregnant!

FIRST: Regine and Judy Ann pregnant!

judy ann santos regine velazquez

It comes in twos!

Their pregnancy taking a long time to come, Regine Velasquez and Judy Ann Santos are pregnant at the same time!

Regine is open about having sex with divorced boyfriend Ogie Alcasid. The buzz is Regine’s pregnancy will be announced in SOP this Sunday, Feb. 28, as a surprise to viewers. Judy Ann, on the hand, will celebrate the first anniversary of her marriage to Ryan Agoncillo when they take a long vacation in the US this April.

Both are secretly infanticipating for their own reasons. Regine cannot come out in the open yet as there’s a morality clause in an endorsement. Judy Ann has her own reason, perhaps wanting to be sure the pregnancy will push through before announcing it.

Both are over 30 –- Regine is turning 40 this April 22 and Judy Ann is 32 this May 11 -- and difficulty in conceiving is expected but they made it!

Regine was extraordinarily happy during the launching press conference of her musical series over GMA-7 dubbed as “Diva” opposite Mark Anthony Fernandez. Her pregnancy probably explains this.

Judy Ann has started to gain weight but her stomach bulge is not yet obvious. She has several days to tape “Habang May Buhay” for ABS-CBN-2 and is currently shooting for Viva Films “Hating-Kapatid” with Sarah Geronimo. She’ll probably wrap up “Habang May Buhay” and “Hating-Kapatid” before she takes a leave.

Judy Ann learns the hard way!

Judy Ann learns the hard way!

judy ann santos“Kung mayroon man akong ikakampanya, I will make it in my own silent way na lang,” says Judy Ann Santos when asked if she will endorse again a political candidate for this year’s national election. Like a true expert on the issue, she said this during the launch of Lactacyd feminine wash “Only trust the experts” campaign slogan as its endorser.

Judy Ann had learned her lesson about political endorsement the hard way. She hesitates to discuss the issue between her and Sen. Jamby Madrigal who is now running as an independent candidate for President, “Ayaw ko ng magsalita kasi po lalaki pa, pag-uusapan pa ang isyu tungkol sa amin.”

Despite her busy schedule, Judy Ann finds time to head the Touch A Heart Foundation. It addresses the educational and agricultural needs of a community of Aetas in Bataan, and provides medical supplies for a hospital in Cuyo Island, Palawan. The young woman is a wonder in time management as on top of all these, she sees to it that she spends quality time with her family.

One can say Judy Ann is true expert, which is why she trusts only the experts! When it comes to her work, she always requests certain people with whom she deals with whenever she has a project.

Three of her favorite experts are Juan Sarte for makeup, Paul Cabral for dresses, and Raymond Isaac for photos. These three experts were responsible for her transformation that is why she is very loyal to them and requests for their services given the chance.

If anyone can claim to have touched and madeup almost all the beautiful faces in local showbiz and prominent society women, it would be Juan Sarte. He is the makeup artist almost always requested by women for important events like shoots and weddings. If one will check the makeup credits for magazine cover shoots, one would most likely see his name.

For clothes that are classic and elegant, one name that always comes to Judy Ann’s mind is Paul Cabral. His atelier is like a second home to many celebrities and icons like the late former Pres. Cory Aquino. Any local high-profile event would always have someone wearing a Paul Cabral gown.

For years, the name Raymond Isaac has been top of mind when it comes to photography. A sought after photographer for print and advertising, Raymond has mounted a number of exhibits and has won in international photography contests.

It cannot be stressed enough that feminine hygiene is a very important and delicate matter for every woman. That is why Judy Ann’s careful choice is her brand of feminine hygiene, Lactacyd. She pitches, “Kaya dapat sa expert lang nagtitiwala. Alagang expert, alagang Lactacyd everyday.

Judy Ann drama series’ jinx finally over?

Judy Ann drama series’ jinx finally over?

judy ann santos“Habang May Buhay,” a Judy Ann Santos and Derek Ramsey drama series starrer, is set to pilot on Feb. 1. Three years in the making, it had as many changes in storyline, title, director and cast members. From “Narserye,” it became “Humingi Ako ng Langit,” and finally “Habang May Buhay.” With so many setbacks and costing ABS-CBN investors multi-millions, it was believed to be a jinx project.

Will Devaughn was supposed to be the lead actor but Derek Ramsey and Joem Bascon eventually replaced him. Will can just laugh because he was not able to accept a lot of shows only to end up in the series as a minor character.

Will’s special appearance in the dancing inmates video has made him a hotspot celebrity (CLICK
HERE for details). He was taken in by chance. His manager Dondon Monteverde’s production house was contracted by producer Sony Pictures to film the “They Don’t Care About Us” music video. Dondon tagged him along and that was when long-time Michael Jackson choreographer Travis Payne spotted him and asked to join in.

Will is finishing his solo debut CD this end of Feb. Taping of “Gimicks 2010” in which he’s a cast member was moved to March. Will is wishing for new projects with ABS-CBN. The are suggestions to screen the “They Don’t Care About Us”music video at the forthcoming Grammy Awards.

Judy Ann Santos on being Jamby’s ‘folly’: 'I was deeply hurt'

Judy Ann Santos on being Jamby’s ‘folly’: 'I was deeply hurt'
By NEIL RAMOS

February 16, 2010, 4:52pm

Actress Judy Ann Santos admits she was “deeply hurt” with the recent statement made by Sen. Maria Ana Consuelo "Jamby" Madrigal about the use of actors in election campaigns being “an insult to the Filipino intelligence.”

"Honestly...[I was hurt] with the words she used [and how she said] she regrets getting my services... Of course, I am not callous. I got hurt because I really believed she got my services [then] because she actually believed in me and it was a sincere offer," Judy Ann said.

Madrigal made her statement at the "Inquirer First Edition: Presidential Debates," organized by the Philippine Daily Inquirer and co-sponsored by Globe Telecom and the UP College of Mass Communication.

Without naming Santos, a celebrity she enlisted during her senatorial campaign in 2004, the re-electionist senator was quoted as saying thus: "I have seen the folly of my ways... I will not repeat [getting a celebrity endorser] because I do not believe you [must] repeat a mistake. But I also don't believe you should perpetuate lies that are perpetuated by a big budget."

Santos said she respects Madrigal’s opinion.

“I won’t prevent [her from sharing her opinion] nor will I pick a fight [with her], or even answer [the seeming challenge] as if I have no sense of gratitude. I am an educated person."

Asked how she found herself supporting Madrigal, who was then widely perceived as a mere unknown running solely on big bucks, Santos gave a succinct answer.

“I thought that it's okay. We were friends and she belongs to the same party as that of my Tatay Ron [the late Fernando Poe, Jr.]."

Santos denied it was all about the money. Madrigal reportedly paid her a hefty sum to appear in ads and join in political sorties.

“[My career] is not all about money. It’s not as if because I am from show business, there’s always money involved [with the services I give], no. Not all actors are the same. Please don’t lump us all in the same boat. It’s like saying that we weren’t brought up properly, schooled properly…and that we will only act, do something, when we get paid.”

Santos said she does not regret campaigning for the former senatorial candidate.

“I did it because I believed in her. It's just that, [I didn’t realize] she didn’t believe in me."

“Maybe before one endorses a politician, it is best that one should get to really know them first.”

Meanwhile, in a recent interview with DZMM, Madrigal clarified her stand on the matter saying she did not regret getting Santos' service during the 2004 senatorial campaign.

She made it clear that she is grateful for the part Santos played in that election, which allowed her to win a seat in the august halls of the senate.

Madrigal said she already thanked Santos personally twice—right after winning in 2004 and before announcing her candidacy for the May 2010 polls.

As to making a statement that decried the use of celebrity endorsers, Madrigal said she was simply emphasizing the need for people to focus more on the candidates' actual plans or platforms.

Judy Ann Santos understands Claudine Barretto’s decision in transferring to GMA-7

Judy Ann Santos understands Claudine Barretto’s decision in transferring to GMA-7

After working on her latest soap opera for three years, Judy Ann Santos will finally be seen in her Nurserye titled Habang May Buhay. During her solo press conference held earlier today, January 11, at the 9501 restaurant at the ABS-CBN compound, Juday expressed her gratitude to ABS-CBN for selecting her to be the face of 60 Years of Pinoy Soap Opera.
This announcement took place during the ABS-CBN Christmas Special taped at the Araneta Coliseum last December 18, 2009.
Hindi ako sanay,” said the actress, who will be playing a nurse named Jane Alcantara. She will have Derek Ramsay, Will Devaughn, and Joem Bascon as her leading men in this TV series.
Her new teleserye will start airing on ABS-CBN by February 1.
ON CLAUDINE'S TRANSFER. Juday has been dubbed in the past as the Queen of Teleseryes along with her closest rival, Claudine Barretto. But Juday pointed out that their rivalry is actually healthy competition that helped them both grow as actresses.
“Ako, I believe na if it weren't for Claudine na parehong gumagawa ng teleserye… Kumbaga, dalawa kami. I believe na dalawa kami, pero nagkataon lang na umibang bakod siya. Kaya naman dumadami ang projects ko kasi marami siyang ginagawa. Kung mapapansin niyo, it's always Claudine and Juday na magkadugtong ng timeslot.
“Thank you sa ABS-CBN kasi nakilala ako dahil nandiyan si Claudine at meron kaming healthy competition,” said Judy Ann with a smile.
Juday said she understood why the actress decided to move to GMA-7.
Intindihin na lang natin at mag-wish tayo na sana, it's all for the best,” Juday said.
Does this mean that they won't be able to work together in the future?
“Marami pa namang posibilidad na matuloy 'yon,” she replied. “Puwedeng sa Viva, puwede sa Regal. Hoping pa rin ako na one day matuloy iyon.”
Juday then described her relationship with the former Star Magic talent. “In all honesty, we are good friends. We are not best friends like Gladys but I can say that our friendship, hindi naman siya pang-showbiz na pagkakaibigan. Nagkikita kami, nag-uusap kami. Malaki ang utang na loob ko sa kanya pagdating sa anak ko. I'm looking forward to working with Claudine and be her friend.
“After [doing] the Pantene commercial, we still talked pero hindi lang talaga kami nagkaroon ng chance to go out and spend time with each other. Minsan magka-text kami, especially nung times na nagkaroon ng problema sa mga bata.”
Was she shocked when she heard about the news that Claudine transferred to GMA-7?
“Siyempre, nagulat ako na-shock ako. Pero at the same time, naintindihan ko agad kung bakit may ganung desisyon kasi hindi naman siya nag-iisa sa pag-iisip ng ganun. Maaaring hindi lang ako ang artistang umaamin or baka ako lang ang artistang umaamin na nag-iisip na lumipat, pero marami riyan… hindi lang artista,” she stressed

Judy Ann Santos hits back at Jamby Madrigal

MANILA, Philippines – Judy Ann Santos felt offended by presidential candidate Sen. Maria Ana Consuelo “Jamby” Madrigal’s remarks that she regretted getting a celebrity endorser during the 2004 senatorial election.

Santos, who endorsed Madrigal then, admitted that she was hurt given that she went out of her way to campaign for Madrigal.

“I was deeply hurt. Kasi all this time I thought she sincerely got my services because she believed in me. And I also, maybe one way or another, believed in her. That's why I campaigned for her,” she told ABS-CBN News.

She added that nobody forced her to endorse Madrigal and she did it “because I wanted to do it.”

In their campaign sorties, the actress said she was able to convince some people to vote for the lawmaker. But it seemed that all her efforts went unappreciated, she noted.

“Kung naniniwala siyang hindi ako nakatulong sa kanya, it’s her opinion. Hindi ko naman ipagpipilitan ang sarili ko sa isang taong ayaw naman ng services ko,” she said.

When asked if Madrigal still has her support in this year’s elections, she said: “Ayoko na pong magsalita kasi kapag nagsalita pa ako ay lalaki lang. Mapapag-usapan pa. Sumagot lang ako dahil gusto ko lang malaman ng tao kung ano ang naramdaman ko."

Santos also declined to comment when asked how much Madrigal had paid her in exchange for her endorsement.

In her statement Tuesday, meantime, Madrigal expressed sadness over Santos’ reaction. She also apologized to the actress.

"Im sorry if I hurt her feelings pero that was not the intention at all... patuloy akong nagpapasalamat kay Judy Ann sa tulong niya noong 2004," she said.

The senator clarified that she acknowledged the efforts made by the actress during the 2004 polls. She also noted that her statements have been misinterpreted.

“Noong magdeklara ako ng kandidatura sa pagka- presidente, isa si Juday (Santos) sa iilang tao na personal kong pinasalamatan at muli akong nagpapasalamat kay Juday sa tulong niya noong 2004 senatorial campaign,” she said.

She added: "Never kong sinabing ni-regret kong ginamit ko si Judy Ann. 'Yong kino-condemn ko 'yong gumagamit ng artista at hindi nilalabas ang kanilang plataporma."

She also reiterated that presidential contenders should be judged based on their platform and not their celebrity endorsers, whose popularity tends to overshadow the competency of a candidate.

During the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s 1st presidential debate last week, Madrigal blasted fellow presidential contender, Sen. Manny Villar, for tapping children and actors in his political advertisements.

But when a panelist pointed out that she too employed the services of a celebrity to endorse her candidacy in 2004, Madrigal replied: “I have seen the folly of my ways. I will not repeat it because I do not believe you must repeat a mistake.”
